Just bought a stack of these at a zine fair here in Australia.. They are tiny little books, but super thick and full of great content. Think along the lines of Meathaus.com .. that kind of Fantagraphics/Drawn and Quarterly style.

http://kushkomikss.ecrater.com/c/131332 ... nthologies

Check them out, really good value at $13 a pop (free shipping in USA), & you can see lists of contributors for each issue. Guys like Michael DeForge and Simon Hanselmann have been involved in the last few issues.

I went into my local comic store the other day, bought JUDGE DREDD MEGAZINE . It was expensive but it continues the movie storyline with some great art. Expensive over here too! I think I paid 10 dollars for it...but it felt good to make a purchase at a local shop.

Post Re: comics?
I walked into work the other day and saw a copy of Battling Boy on my desk and thought,
"WOW early birthday?"
But it wasn't to be. It was only on loan from a friend
It was a great getting back into his worlds.
Then he brought in Pulphope and One trick Ripoff later in the week.
So sort of on a Paul Pope binge lately.
Was very happy to read all three.

I should have posted this earlier, but I didn't realise it applied to online purchases as well. It actually started on Monday. In any case D&Q is having a 40% off sale on their web store orders, which is just bonkers. And for the locals, all D&Q-published books and comics are on sale for 25% off at the shop. Sale runs until Monday, December 2nd. Get in on this madness!

It's well worth the $20 so it's obviously worth it at $10! :D

Oh man, thanks for the tip!
I had some of their zine releases, but holy cow, $10 for the whole collected package, I'm sold!
Just purchased!

I finally read Battling Boy. Fantastic read. Paul Pope just makes some really, entertaining stories.

LOVED Life Zone. One of my favorite comics of 2013. I finally "get" Simon Hanselmann humor and thing now. And this comic just hit a perfect, dark humor note.

^^ i have to get round to reading Battling Boy . . . theres too much of a back-log on my graphic novels at the moment!

Here's another reason why i love charity shops.
You regularly find random little curiosities like this Spitting Image compilation from the late 80's :)

Moog, somehow that ryan Hughes strip didn't make the cut for the 'yesterday's tomorrows' compilation (well worth picking up for 'Dare' alone). Nice find!

Very happy to pick this one up cheap. I read The Perishers in the Mirror newspaper as a kid.
This book is from 1978. Classic British comic-strip . . . . .

Post Re: comics?
I was browsing the shelves of my local FP and came across this absolute gem.
Very dense, dark and lyrical . . . i loved it. Looking forward to the next installment.

The story is told in flashback by a Butterfly and a Rabbit skeleton with half its skull missing!!
The art reminds me of Paul Pope, which is never a bad thing . . . .

Got Battling Boy on the way, have just recently had my passion for comics re-ignited upon finishing the first volume of Saga. Absolutely stunned me. Vol 2 instantly ordered.
