The vinyl underneith is yes the same as the original but he sprayed every inch of it to cover it up. To make a new colorway.
The one I have has a few light spots where he didn't cover it well and the pink shown through just a bit.
But its clear this was meant to be an original not a repaint.

I know that it is a different color but he repainted the figures he couldn't sell! So I think it is a repaint.

To be honest the OG akro is the exact same vinyl color as this guy:
Amazing how a little spray can change the color of the base vinyl completely.
