Exciting news, for me anyway but I just found boxes of Yummy Mummy and Fruit Brute cereal at the grocery store. I always wanted to try these. Awesome.

Target will have them in the retro style boxes.

It'll be fun to share them with my kid.

Count Chocula is one of the greatest things that has ever happened in the world. I always get a box when they have their 'limited time' on the grocery shelf.

I have the old Medicom Kubrick figures of these.. Regular & GID editions! Was so excited when they came out!! Luckily I was in USA last year around this time, finally got to eat all of the cereals that I had seen advertised in Marvel comics when I was growing up here in Australia.. Didn't hold up to my expectations. Cinnamon Toast Crunch is awesome though.

When the hell is Target getting these retro boxes in? I'm really tired of checking stores in between classes. The target website is absolutely useless as most of their employees!

Is Target the only store carrying these?

The big difference is just in the boxes. Target will get the cool retro boxes that if your around my age (45 in less than a month) you will remember. Obviously being the original boxes they are much cooler than the crappy giant face new boxes. It's all about having an enhanced flashback breakfast cereal experience! Although if these damn things don't appear soon I'm going to have to go over to Wegmans and pick up some new boxes. Taste will be the same. Here's a pic:

I don't see any at the Target (in Orlando) I work at yet, but we haven't received our Halloween stock yet either.

Yeah I did the whole General Mills product locator thing and nothing within 30-40 miles of Buffalo so I'm assuming they're not out yet.

Picked up my vintage boxes today in Pittsburgh. No Yummy Mummy and Frankenberry was almost out.

Likely yet another year of disappointment here too. These never come north of the border, though since Target is just now breaking in to Canada, I admit to harboring some hope. If someone does end up grabbing a case of the some of the retro boxes to mule, let me know.

I'd just thought I'd share my frustrating quest for the retro Target boxes. It's not gone well. I find it infuriating that no one in the Target organization has any idea what the fuck I'm talking about. I've used the Target website which provides little to no info on up to date stock, called stores (no one has a clue), visited 4-5 Targets around here and nothing. I keep getting bewildered Target employees that go "Ummm I guess we are getting halloween stuff?!" Yet on the great thing called the internet they appear to be everywhere. Except here in Buffalo. I've even emailed corporate and they emailed me back saying they were discontinued. Discontinued? WTF?!!!

How do you announce a promotion in late August (with significant time before Halloween) saying you will have retro monster cereal boxes and have them discontinued a week or so into September? What the fuck did they do supply only 20 Target's nationwide with 50 boxes of cereal? To make matters worse I can't even find the new crap boxes anywhere and I'm not paying 50 bucks on ebay for a retro set. Fuck I wish I'd just forget these even existed, because this has become worse than searching for a rare toy. Yet I have to see shit like this on the internet:

I hate Buffalo so fucking much! This place is like some void where nothing good ever comes through, no good bands, no decent indie films, apparently no monster cereal, nothing. I cannot wait to leave this shit pit of a city and regret the day I ever moved here on a whim. Place makes NJ look like heaven. Sorry rant over....

I've been to two Target's in the last week, and nothing. Each store had about three thousand Halloween items available....but no monster cereal. I even went to one that has a big ass grocery store in it, and checked the cereal aisle......to no avail.

If I find some, i'll buy extras Lixx.
