Re: I heart Breaking Bad
I still stand by my belief that Walt will redeem himself. If he lets Jessie die or his family. I honestly will feel cheated. I should have stopped at Season 4 where it was literally the perfect ending.
I just have the words of Bryan Cranston echoing through my end from the Talking Bad appearance when asked about the ending. "Its a very un-apologetic ending, in the Breaking Bad kind of way." And Aaron Paul's tweet, "Wear a diaper for the finale, because you are going to sh** yourself!"
I think tonight was the last hurrah till we get the "Red Wedding" all over again.
Whatever its going to be, I think it'll be a perfect ending, its just going to hurt.
I'm sure there will be a big mourning period after this show. Rehab will be needed.

Maybe it's hard to live up to last week's excellence & the high expectations that come with being an extended episode but that felt a bit empty and flat..

Re: I heart Breaking Bad
I have hope that Walt will somehow come out on top of this but I'm a realist. That cancer is an uphill battle I ultimately think he'll lose- probably by his own hand with the ricin. I knew this episode would be considerably less tense after last week but it does set the stage nicely. I'm just wondering how the Jesse situation plays out? Can't believe there is only one more hour left of BB!
I also feel really bad for Walt. Jr. Who probably changed his name officially to Flynn to not have any part of the "Walter White" relation. His life is cursed with that legacy now. Total bummer.
It's just crazy how things come full circle. All back the buy-out with Grey Matter. And in the end, to get discredited from that, and then Todd/Lydia pushing the blue product and taking all the credit- Walt has nothing left. And he is going to make sure no one else will either. "Grey matter" all over the walls.

Am I the only one that is annoyed with Flynn's tantrum? Walt did this all for the fam. As shitty of a guy he has become, none of this would have happened if his grey matter opportunity wasn't taken away and he didn't get cancer. He's just like any wild animal backed into a corner.

Re: I heart Breaking Bad
Walt Jr's rant annoyed me. Again though he's too emotionally immature to weigh actions, or see a bigger picture. I really wish Walt had a chance to explain that he was not directly responsible for Hank's death. Pinkman put those consequences into action, even if Walt was indirectly involved.
Eh, I'm blaming Walt for it all. Walt worked with Todd after the robbery. Walt hired the Todd's uncle for the prison killings. Walt made the call. As much as Walt wants to point the finger at Jesse, it was really in own fault. OR you can almost point it Skylar for pushing Walt to make the hit on Jesse, therefore causing the following events.
Its a chain of actions to consequences. That is what this show really emphasizes on. One mans actions can easily affect someone else life. Going all the way back to the plane crash. Walt didn't save Jane. Jane died. Jane's Dad becomes wrecked. Plane crash. So in some way, Walt is to blame for all.
Again, a lot of this stuff wouldn't have happen if it wasn't for Walt and his connection with Todd & Co. Or getting into all of this mess in the first place.
That's why its hard to root for Walt now. Its like "Yeah, get that machine gun and take down those evil Nazi's!" But good for you Walt. You got revenge for your own dumb mistakes. Its Walt ego, greed and etc that has him digging his own grave and everyone else.
Walter White is cancer to everyone around him.
Though, it was rough seeing Walter White in the cabin, alone, paying someone $10,000 just to spend an extra hour of time together. Sad, but this is the desolate, cold ending punishment for Walt. And I'm sure the worst has yet to come.
Man, just rewatching that ending again is so good. "The sweet, innocent Walter White we knew is gone." Full on Heisenberg mode activated.

As well you should. Your indictment is spot-on. Everything comes back to Walt's wrong-headedness. The Gray Matter bit was sort of like a karmic slap back at Walt for what he said when he last saw Jesse. It was all for naught, and Walt has only himself to blame. Walt Jr.'s response to his father's phone call was perfect. To be rooting for Walt at this point is to completely miss the point of the series.
Very sorry to see Andrea go like that, but perhaps it just drives the point home. Even if Brock survives, it'll be as damaged goods, and despite the circumstances of his mother's murder, the root cause as with all the tragedies of Breaking Bad is Walt's poor judgment.

Re: I heart Breaking Bad
Obviously up until last night I thought that big machine gun was intended for Todd's Uncle & Co., but now I'm not so sure. I love how crazy and not "happy Hollywood" ending this show can be, but I would love to see Todd and friends be dead somehow....it doesn't need to be by Walter.
They make good villains. You love hating them.
Also, poor Marie. She was so sad looking in the car ride home.

Marie, I felt bad... she's did a lot to make me not like her, but her facial expression really had me feel for her. I like that Saul brought up the phone call, I'm glad that what I felt was Walt actually going psychotic to push Skylar away from the events. make him the bad guy, glad that was the case cause Walt really terrified me with that phone call last ep. I was given some relief when he left Holly at the fire station. I like that it took Walt a few tries looking out that gate before he decided to leave. He knew once he walked out that gate, that the New Hampshire move was just a bust. Jesse having to watch Andrea, oh man that hurt. This guy has had everything he's loved pretty much taken from him, his parents disowned him, won't even let him see his brother, Jane, Brock was almost lost, now Andrea is actually gone. Jesse doesn't look like he'll be in any position in the next 75 minutes to get any sort of closure. Walt looks like he might be able to close the book on a few chapters. I wanted to see so much more. Walt does this all do himself, Im sure there wasn't 80 million before sending the blue over seas, but I guarantee you there was enough. He should of outted Lydia long ago when she was weak... now she is an actual threat with some clout.

I respectfully disagree with this statement. I haven't missed anything. Maybe I see Walt differently.
I'm just bitter because I was rooting for Andrea.

Lol. I think no one is rooting for psycho Todd and the nazis!
Yeah I know Walt has caused a lot of grief but I look at each character individually and see many poor choices in judgement. Very few innocent people (Walt Jr only comes to mind). I just wanted Walt to outsmart everyone.

Re: I heart Breaking Bad
There are a lot of ways to look at this... I don't think it is as simple as rooting for good or bad in this scenario as all of these characters have been sketched out with plenty of human frailties.
I don't think that hoping Walt exacts some measure of vengeance in the wake of all the horrible things he's done is less correct than hoping he suffers for all his transgressions. You can root for Walt to win here and hope he loses there. I don't think it's an all or nothing scenario. Walt has always walked the line, and while it looks like Heisenberg is here to stay, some of Walter White is still alive in there and I expect him to appear before all is said and done.
A couple of episodes ago I thought Jesse was out of runway and he may still be, but if either of the main two are getting out of this alive, it's Jesse.
People are most definitely going to pay though. I don't think the Aryans make it alive, neither does Lydia, and maybe just maybe as a punctuation point, neither does the reputation of Gray Matter.
