Re: What do you listen to????????
For some reason when I worked in NYC many many moons ago and got a promo of 'Clint Eastwood' by the Gorillaz I never explored them beyond that one single. It was a great single, but I think my feelings on Damon Albarn being a total Britpop twat ruined it for me. Recently I gave them another chance and I'm seeing that whole first LP in a different light. I especially like Double Bass, Soundcheck, and Tomorrow Comes Today, b-sides like Dracula etc.
Anyhow wanting to find more tracks like Dracula and being a fan of Dub (not Dubstep- I fucking hate Dubstep) I discovered this gem called "Laika Come Home":
The whole first Gorillaz LP remixed by Spacemonkeyz. Pretty good.

^^ Total Britpop twat ?!
That's harsh
He may be a tad pretentious . . . . . . I'm curious, do you have any examples for why you think he's a total twat?

First off let me start by saying I almost exclusively listen to British music. I have my whole life. So me calling Damon Albarn a twat, is not a condemnation on all British people or music. I'm a little older so I grew up listening to Joy Division, New Order, The Cure, Specials, JAMC, into Madchester bands, Shoegazing bands etc. BUT when Britpop came about it was a complete 360 from how grounded and special that other music was to me. I don't like Pop music. I've never listened to the radio. I remember liking the first Blur album but I think by the time Britpop came about I was a raver listening to DnB anyhow. Oasis annoys the shit out of me, especially Liam, so maybe I lumped Damon in with him?

Re: What do you listen to????????
^^ No problemo, i wasn't assuming you were condemning all British people or music! I'm a long-time Blur fan so i took it a bit personally . . .
I think Britpop was dragged into the mainstream tabloids with all the stupid feuds between the bands etc . . . all the bullshit at the time detracted from the music.
For the record, i also think Oasis suck. One of the most over-rated bands ever. I totally agree . . . Liam is a twat.

Recently got turned on to Nasty and No Zodiac. Incredibly heavy and pissed off albums. Force of Change is just a good ol' Strife ripoff band, but I love it. Still wish Dave had As Hope Dies together, though.
Now this is a great album. Ibiza is a classic, but Sasha's GU San Fran is hands-down my fave of the series. Nick Warren's GU Lima was stellar as far as recent one's go. Speaking of which, it seems about time a new GU should be in the works, as its been a while since the last... You've got some good taste on the old school prog house tip Edgar, too bad most of the new stuff is garbage The Balance compilations have managed to stay pretty strong. Pick up Nick Warren's if you don't already have it.

Crap I hate when I get on a Stereolab kick. Nothing else will substitute for their sound! For me though it's only about Peng!, Switched On, Transient Random Noise Bursts with Announcements, Space Age Bachelor Music, maybe a song or two from Mars Audiac Quintet, and a handful of early singles. So I guess before 1995? After that ehhhhh...
'Tone Burst' might be the ultimate driving song on a highway:
Anyone else ever have trouble importing Transient Random Noise Bursts to iTunes? My computer hates that disc and spins it endlessly (and it's not scratched at all)

This always reminded me of Stereolab!
Ha! Wayne you're not the only one! When I used to have marathon FOTC sessions I would always end up humming their songs. This one happened to be very infectious. I got on a Primal Scream kick this week. Previously I only ever really listened to Screamadelica and maybe a few other tracks, BUT I'm finding I really like Xtrmntr and not just the MBV remix on the LP. I especially like 'Kill All Hippies' and this great tune 'Shoot Speed/Kill Light':
