Re: Pollen Kaiser DX
I'm so bummed I was unable to jump on that Siccaluna when it came online (the one 30-minute window I was away from my computer yesterday )... could not stop thinking about it last night, especially after seeing the INSANE glow shot on the product page, which added about three more levels of awesome... check it out if you haven't yet: http://shop.toyartgallery.com/product_toy_info/-c-63/pollen-kaiser-custom-83-by-siccaluna-p-3912If someone here was the lucky buyer.... PLEASE keep me in mind if you ever have the (insane) notion of parting with it!

Rich wrote: All in all this was a great showing by most. I just prefer a toy not be altered, so as much as I like the mods, it's takes away from the toy to me. The sculpt is great why change it, just adapt to it. Obviously this doesn't hold up for that crazy PK mod, it is his original sculpt though so if anyone has the right to mod it, it's him. Since he originally sculpted it, I think only he has the right to resculpt it. Couldn't agree more. And as far as a favorite from the show, I'll have to go with Phil's.

I loved one that I don't seem to see anyone talking about - Yamomark's was awesome!

Re: Pollen Kaiser DX
Ha I didn't think of that - It does kind of remind me of the Devilman Pollen Kaiser, which is my favorite production one. Maybe a cross between that and the GID SMFU ones.

Re: Pollen Kaiser DX
I contemplated on modifying mine but it just didn't feel right to do so.
Some amazing pieces indeed. Too hard to pick favorite.

Re: Pollen Kaiser DX
Hah, I went to town modifying it! I love working with non-platform toys, adding, subtracting and extending the 'family language'. Even though my end result drastically changed the form, each aspect of my sculpt directly references back to the original sculpt - My way of respecting the original toy is working with it and not against it. I really wish I was able to animate ~ I would love to create a little animation to display my idea of the transformation process: Human to Pollen Kaiser It's a fantastic sculpt to begin, there is no need to change it but in saying that, it's very enjoyable to see how people have adapted the form - especially if it is done well. I don't agree that only the original sculptor has the 'right' to modify the form; that is a bit limiting but I do agree that only seeing painted variations would be fantastic. Each time there is a custom show with a non-platform toy, this conversation tends to pop up. In the end, it's each to their own. My fav pieces from the show: Fungus Infected Kaiser by the main man himself http://shop.toyartgallery.com/product_t ... iju-p-3892METWIN by Carson Catlin http://shop.toyartgallery.com/product_t ... lin-p-3944ONI by Kenth Toy Works http://shop.toyartgallery.com/product_t ... rks-p-3893Custom by Hanawa http://shop.toyartgallery.com/product_t ... awa-p-3900Stand Back by Motorbot http://shop.toyartgallery.com/product_t ... bot-p-3923Custom by Dlux http://shop.toyartgallery.com/product_t ... lux-p-3946My piece was impossible to photograph, here is a video for people that didn't make it to the show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaDq4K5phOII really wish I was able to make it, I hope to come out next year~ Being all the way in Australia makes it a bit hard to pop by for opening nights.

Cudos to all of you from skullbrain that participated in our anniversary show. I'm truly blessed to be able to work around such a great bunch of talented people. All of you really put your best foot forward and I just wanted to thank you for that.

Why is no one talking about this, it is amazing. The matte finish is stunning.

Re: Pollen Kaiser DX
Is that a NYCC PK release? If so, I am just guessing because no one is talking about anything being released there for some reason. Sucks for all the rest of us. I don't get why nearly everything has been so hush-hush this year. No one even wants to post any photos. Meanwhile shits all over the bay already. You aren't going to impede the flippers.

Re: Pollen Kaiser DX
Ah cool, thanks Kevin!
I agree with David, I really like the flat paint on him. Works great with the black rub style colouring.
