Huge! And the sculpt is amazing!! Love it! Been looking for a perfect gorilla toy... this could be it.

Thanks for the pics Joe and Rich.

I didn't notice the spikes/bumps on him until later in the event but they are integrated very nicely into the overall design. A very thoughtful and unexpected nice touch to this piece.

Guys, seeing him in person, let me just say this...its the real deal. A very well designed impressive piece. A winner in my book.

2HB heads have never been on another body have they?

Either I read your initial comment wrong or I don't have a clue what this has to do with the fact that the heads on both sculpts are/seem to be prone to rubbing ears... I was simply trying to say that I wouldn't draw any conclusions based on the design alone.

Post Re: Hirota Saigansho: Gorilla-ju, Mecha Gorilla-ju, & Tyrann
I think he just meant that the size of the heads and the lack of any additional neck sculpting meant that they could potentially be added to the normal Ju body. i.e. they are large and close together because they were partly scaled up to maybe enable this in the future. Whether it happens or not, I agree it is an interesting notion - I hadn't considered that.

Ear rubbing/lack of full movement aside, with the large heads (which suits the body) maybe there is just no good way to separate them enough to allow for it while still maintaining the believability of the sculpt; that is kind of what I meant. I imagine Hirota probably went through a few design iterations trying different things to get the final look that seemed right to him.

Not sure I am such a huge fan of the body spikes. They are subtle enough that I didn't even notice them in the first shot of the figure, but I guess I just prefer traditional gorilla. I think it would have been really great to have them on one side (maybe the balding/skull one which seems a bit more ferocious). I'd like to eventually see the back too and how prominent they are.

I wouldn't be surprised if this figure is a precursor to a half-mecha ape - that would be amazing too.

Big chimp lips vs Samurai shaved head, with spikes ...on the same toy!
Instant win in my eyes

Thanks for taking the photos and giving us all a sneak peak.
I got all excited (again) and updated the rough scale picture I made when the minis were announced.
Based on the stretch monster height (but taking in to account the legs were hidden and it's at an angle).
Maybe the heads aren't bigger than a standard Gorilla Ju and the scale is a bit off? but as Rich said possibly 11-12", it's not far out.
What a beast!

That and only being able to shoot from the right. You did NOT want to stand near the entrance of the line if you weren't next up. To say it would have pissed people off would be an understatement.

I'm just glad with the shots I got, I wanted to take better images but what can you do.

I had a great time. First time in years were I could just go as a fan and have a blast.

Glad just about everyone scored something.

Next year I'm bringing my son :)

^^^ Sad I never saw you Rich :( wish you came by the booth. I cut through the line to get a closer look while saying out loud "I'm not cutting, I'm not cutting, I'm not cutting." That pus line is intense!

These Omakes are excellent pieces on their own. As its near impossible to get an MG2, it would be nice if they got a separate release. The pink one is especially winsome. For some reason they remind me of one of the three Takara Alien Invaders, with the addition of a scaly hide.

Great photos guys - I actually got to see more in Rich's pics than I saw at the con!

Agree...It would be great if the omakes got there own release.

Carl I don't think they are based on the Takara Alien Invaders but the old stretch figures...

There's a bit of similarly to this Outer Limits "Keeper of the Purple Twilight" Alien in the Japanese Andro also.

I'm sure everyone's seen the photos on Kaiju Korner of the marble mini Mecha and more, but it's not posted here yet... Was anyone lucky enough to get one?

Mini Andro head arrived yesterday – so pleased to have both versions.
Complete with perished body 'syrup glued' to the box bottom!
Will need to perform some surgery to save the box...
