had an amazing weekend, despite not getting in on the collecting action. DCon is easily the best show of year for toymakers. 2 days made it SO much better as a vendor...had enough time to get out of the booth and enjoy all the talent in the room, met some great people, and all i got was this lousy t-shirt:

I agree Day 2 was great for talking with people. I did have some final rush sales too. Glad they are keeping it 2 days.

i think they're going to push sunday morning back an hour or so next year...that'll deft'ly be welcome. i was shredded after going out saturday night...caught Clutch at the House of Blues, and oh boy did it hurt me Sunday...but it was totally worth it.

I know the longer I stood around the more tickets I ended up with. Alot of folks were tapping out and giving there tickets to other hopefulls.

thats exactly how i ended up with a buttload at mvh on sunday... and i gave out the winning tickets i had to those that spoke up when I asked the entire crowd who was willing to buy 1 of the 2 krawless 1 offs that were left.

i ended up getting another ticket to pk later in the day, form 1 of the 2 i gave the winning mvh ticket to.

karma... and that ticket they gave me, got me in to get a toy for a much deserving boardie. I didn't go around asking for extra tickets.

I really don't think anyone tried to screw the system to get extra tickets I think boardies that know other boardies would just hand them off if they couldn't stick around or if the piece they wanted had sold out. It's silly to sit here and try to make that an issue. It's silly to make any of it an issue just enjoy the company and the toys.

glad it worked both ways... honestly I don't see the need for the bitching... I had a talk with another member recently that kind of came in hot headed a bit... I kind of just told them that you get what you give in this community... Which I feel is VERY VERY true. you help out, you get helped out plain and simple. I honestly dont get those that lurk, and stay in the shadows, but complain about not getting that uber new hot hot hot piece of fishing lure that was pulled from the molten volcanic moat of mordor and then dolled up in in a rainbow of mystical colors that are of the V.

Bitterpill, wish we could of talked after either of the 2 fiasco's its nice to meet new members... I know a few, but its always good to meet someone new. Next time.

Amen bro, i also got a few tix from other brainers and after my number was called out i returned the favor a couple of times to other boardies or known collectors, rather have them score something than some random "collector" or a$$hole .

DCon is miles better than SDCC. You actually have room to walk about freely instead of being packed in like sardines (and smelling like sardines). Now if we can get all the other Japanese companies to start attending DCon instead of SDCC, that would be even better. Booths at DCon are probably less expensive than a booth at SDCC so that should be some incentive.
I talked with a few vendors and some of them don't care for the 2 days but as a consumer, 2 days is great if you can only make 1. Also the added factor of "Oh...I should have picked up that toy. I hope they have it tomorrow..." and it still being there for some toys is awesome.

If you don't know me, I was the nerd standing next to the giant mockbat head. I was surprised by a few people who came up and introduced themselves asking if I was animator. Always good to meet new people.

I'm just going to get BOObotcher across the back of my cutt... sad I didn't get to meet soo many of you or maybe I did and the board was never mentioned. DCON was fucking awesome! Never seen soo many grown men hugging and having a good time over toys. 3 days next year please!
