If a giant alien landed on earth and poured molten aluminum into a skyscraper melting a few thousand people then yanked it all out to sell as art I would not approve. I don't know about this though. I think ants are kind of cool so I am biased to begin with.

Fire ants suck...but this is cruel and dumb. Art and education? Well, my 3 yr old does "art" everyday at school with fingerpaint...and other than safety issues, my 3 yr old could easily do this "art" and is this fucking caveman education? I don't get it...has this guy every heard of a computer? Way to profit from the suffering of other beings

Wow. So I went to the actual site and it linked to his ebay page and his newest one has close to 100 bids and is over 4 grand with a day left. What the hell?

Entomologists have been doing this for a long time for science, they should just recast those to sell, especially since it comes out in many pieces anyway.

Most metal is cast in compressed sand. I really like the outcome of this, and since it is fire ants I am fine with it.
