This is one of those auctions that really hurt. The pain is still lingering with me weeks later. My own fault for not being on the game. Why am I such an idiot?!

There was also a ton of lots for vintage figures recently I was watching. This is just one of them, junked, but I really wanted to make a bite at it, if only for the Marusan Original guy up front. Ah well, live and learn.

And if anyone is tired of me sharing these auctions, just give the word. Trying to keep the vintage alive here.

Nope, keep'em coming!
That was a nice lot even if junked, with that price!

I saw all of those recent junk auctions. I'm really surprised the one you posted went so cheap, considering the Marusan Original sitting front and center. Some of those toys were beat to shit though- with writing all over them. Personally I don't mind a little beat up but I absolutely hate marker, unless it's on the bottom of the foot. If they ever invent something that can remove it without stripping the paint I'd be in heaven.

The two lot auctions by the same seller I watched- one had a bootleg Barom One I was after and another Miura Tertran. Those got a little pricey.

You gotta shake off the sting and move on.

One can't be everywhere all of the time, along with living a life in the present.
Just saying, been there, that's my POV these days as I walk in a world of people staring at screens...

I have to admit I'm pretty envious of all the collectors who had to foresight to pick these up a long time ago. Such a beautiful giant toy. I've never seen a Fireman Talker on YJA and kind of knew it would get a little crazy with the bids:

Did Morphys hold another Japanese vinyl auction or was that Leafman just randomly tossed into one of its auctions of non-Japanese vintage toys?

And yes, that price is insane.

Maybe it went so high because of the sword? It's hard to come by. I wouldn't mind owning it without.

Here's a Popy Poseidon unopened. The auction translation said 19.5 inches, did they mean 19.5 cm? That would make it mid sized and everything I hear about Popy mid size is rare rare rare. Beautiful toy and I now see where SK got inspired to do their purple Poseidons:

Fireman has always been a really hard to find talker, but a few years ago, a few popped up and we had three of them at the store at one time. They all slowly walked away, and I have not seen any since. For a loose version with no pull string ring, it seems a bit high, but about five years ago they blew up at this level. Talkers are a rare breed.

The purple poseiden is a 7.5" size vinyl. It has always been super expensive and hard to find. I've been trying to get one for a while. The V3 in this size is easy to get, but almost all the others are hard to find.

Wow three Fireman Talkers at S7?! Oh how times have changed with vintage. Thanks for the info Brian. Yeah I keep hoping a Fireman mid sized will turn up but haven't seen one of those either.

Damn I too wish I would have the "insight" on the talkers. Only thing I got lucky with was buying the Astro Mus before "word" really got out and the one talker I got that I REALLY wanted? my Gatchaman talker ! Love that guy. I pull his cord at least once a week as I walk out to work.

To think, some nice guy at Super 7 gave me a Fireman talker.

Okay, so after I build my time machine, I will add making a past visit to Super7 as a high priority on the list. :)

I could not understand how this Giant sized Silver Mask went for 271000 yen when there was another that went for only 35000 yen in the same condition. Then I realized that it was the insane 20 inch (50cm) toy not the Giant 15 inch size. Knew of Mirrorman in this size but not Silver Mask. Wow:

That is a hefty price tag to be sure, but really, it is such a nice figure. We need some new identifier for these 'extra' giant figures, to easily differentiate them. Gargantuan maybe? :) Such a pity they come up so rarely. I really wonder how many of them are out there. As Lixx said, the one I have most commonly seen is the Mirrorman, and even that fella isn't exactly gracing shelves everywhere.

Wow...that bootleg Ankoku Daishogun's pretty sweet. Cooler than the legit Popy one, if you ask me!
