Mr. Humphreys wrote: Just curious, how often do you dust your toys? I'm assuming those cases are not "air tight"? I'm super lazy about dusting. When I had just 2-3 detolfs and a lot less toys I would meticulously take all the toys off of each shelf, dust the glass, and wipe off the toys. These days the only time i dust is if I move a shelf (just flipped two around the other day) or if I notice dust forming. The top, forget it. Surprisingly detolfs don't allow that much dust to get in. Good thing about these toys is, no matter how dusty they get it's nothing a damp cloth can't take off in 2 seconds.

 Re: Whole Collection Shots
That makes sense... especially if you are collecting a lot of vintage. I've "learned" to calm down (a teensy tiny bit) about dust. Ok, one more question, how do you "prioritize" which toys get to live in the high rent district ( IN the case)? I would've expected all of those wonderful vintages to be inside? Dusting day must be H-E- double toothpicks!

 Re: Whole Collection Shots
Ha wherever I can find space! I try to group toys like vintage together etc etc, and I guess I just got lucky the way it worked out. I thought about moving those Shikaruna Zags up top and trying to squeeze as much vintage into that one spot- but I don't want to mess everything up.

 Re: Whole Collection Shots
Words can't express my amazement at your collection, Lixx. I've seen pics before, and my jaw drops every time. Your use of risers is commendable as well... I use them, but don't even come close to displaying that many toys on a shelf. Well done, sir. Small update on the Detolf discontinuation scare: I checked stock prognosis at my local store yesterday, and they had no information. Checked back today: This product is out of stock at your selected store. Expected delivery date: Fri Jan 31 - Fri Feb 7*black/brown version They are now available to buy online... if you feel like shelling out $99 for shipping Now the "beech effect" version is another story... my local store never carried them, and the only other in-state store that did now says this: The product will soon be leaving our range, and may not come back in stock, so you may want to look for an alternative product. That being said, looks like maybe IKEA is choosing to phase-out that style... if so, sorry Lixx

Any idea how much your relative paid for something like this? Gotta be a lot for this kind of talent...that gumball machine
