UHHHGGG.......so good!
Maybe a Fresh Meat question but does anybody know what "the 7th LAB." stands for on the FLV. boogie header?

 Re: Cure Discussion Spot
I just noticed, that the guts inside the SDCC 2008 Boogie (Shaved ice) are cast in glitter vinyl! Nice detail

 Re: Cure Discussion Spot
Anyone manage to snag the test shot FL-v Brainbug from Lulu? I was on there on the hour and I didn't even have the option! What's quicker than instant? That must have been how quickly it sold out. Not mad because I was after the painted anyway. Minimal paint apps or death!

I went directly to Lulu's homepage around a half hour into the sale started and was able to buy both. Glad you got the one you wanted tho!

Schorsch wrote: Maybe a Fresh Meat question but does anybody know what "the 7th LAB." stands for on the FLV. boogie header? Good question actually! The 7th Lab is actually on most boogie headers these days. I asked Tossy the same question too. 7th to him is just something like "lucky 7" and "Lab" is what it means, a lab for experimenting something new, hence the smallish quantity and semi/minimal finish on the products. thefauxbot wrote: Anyone manage to snag the test shot FL-v Brainbug from Lulu? A little confusing here. In Japan, the test shot FLV is actually refering to the painted version while the unpainted is the FLV ver. The pumpkin FLVs were named this way.

@maxaltoman
Ah yeah, I just assumed that the unpainted would be the test, that's what I was referring to. I myself didn't even see it come up on Lulubell. Glad you were able to answer that 7th Lab question too. While we're at it what does all the "UO" stuff refer to?

Is this guy wearing a jumpsuit? Oh, and that skull head came out of nowhere. Looks very Secret Base, not sure of the collab details beyond that though. But can we talk about that jumpsuit?

 Re: Cure Discussion Spot
I guess the logic is the price will only go up though, right? My main motivation to be financially successful now is to keep up with Cure releases. The year still feels pretty young and they're already able to boast a very strong range so far. At this point I'm having to decide which ones to miss out on. Need to start making the kind of money that those 'make it rain' chaps have.
That shrunken 1/1 is a pretty cool idea - surprised that they busted it out for a cure release though, rather than a fighter.

 Re: Cure Discussion Spot
Although boogies are not as flippable these days plus the high retail price should deter some people, i think it is better to publish after the lottery sale is over since there are not so many of these. Anyhow, super happy to finally see a black O-1000, great release !

 Re: Cure Discussion Spot
I'm slightly confused as to why $200 for basically a proto Boogie with a skull is sought after, but a $200 painted Brain Bug by Groman is considered too expensive.

I think they are both considered expensive. But to offer a theory to your observation. Perhaps an open order costing $200 has little resale value, therefore they are deemed "too expensive" in relation to their potential value in the secondary market.

I can see that as a valid point. Shitty way for people to look at it, honestly. I wouldn't be able to buy something with the idea of "I hope this increases in value over time" 'cause then it wouldn't truly be for me. Of course, that's just one dude's outlook.

I totally agree with your outlook. I genuinely wished everyone can be like you. Unfortunately in most collectible hobbies, whether an item is cheap or expensive is largely determined by what they can fetch in secondary markets. In our hobby, I often read comments about how someone is too broke and cannot fork out the cash when considering a purchase of an unhyped toy in BST costing maybe $80 or $100, but turn around and suddenly able to muster the cash immediately when offered to buy a nag or mg2 or goga at say $500 which are considered "bargains".
