what's the name of the french artist / writer / film maker on which 5th element was based on?
The story that was most like the film was The Incal, which is avalible in two volumes, and I highly recomend pick them up or at least skimming through them. Though Moebius worked on the film, latter this story arose..
"Moebius and Jodorowsky (writer and would latter create a side seriers Metabaron) sued Luc Besson, director of The Fifth Element, claiming that the film borrowed graphic and story elements from The Incal, but lost their case. In a 2002 interview with the Danish comic book magazine Strip!, Jodorowsky actually claimed that he considered it an honour that somebody stole his ideas which is not surprising as Jodorowsky believes that authors do not create the stories they tell as much as they make personal interpretations of myths universal to the collective human subconsciousness."

OH and Roger Corman Alien rip off Forbidden World (aka Mutant) which is a whole heap of bloddy sci-fi fun, ditto Battle Beyond The Stars and warlords of atalntis (the best mad max on a budget rip off ever!)....Close Encounters??? omega mans remake is supposed to danny boyles 28 days later.
trying to capture fascination of empty streets of london
with digital recording didnt work for me.
westworld and terminator was classic
