Admit it EVOM you went to Florida and dove into that mystery lake where the UPS truck crashed years ago to retrieve that Hayabusa.

Wow - you remember that Lixx! Very impressive (and it's 100% true about a GID Hayabusa being at the bottom of some unidentified lake in Florida. Bwana can confirm it because he was the one who sent it to me via UPS and the delivery truck got hijacked). That was an era when Buta would hang around the Grass Hut website for a long time because no one really cared about it.

Totally remembered that story! It just seemed so spectacular not to remember. Talk about bad luck. Did anyone ever try to salvage it? Can't be that deep in the lake, you would just have to avoid the alligators. As long as the pH in that lake doesn't do any weird discoloration to it (or it hasn't become buried in sediment or an alligator's chew toy) I'd say it's just waiting to be found.

I think Bwana said it was near Jacksonville. That's where UPS tracking trail went cold.

I find it hard to believe that the vehicle was not recovered. Not only do they need it for liability issues, but if it was stolen, it was part of a criminal activity. Plus they would need to recover it for environmental reasons. Regardless, you would have to be crazy to go diving (or swimming for that matter) in any local lake. Those Gator Boys episodes are misleading. These things are killers! ;) (Not to mention the Everglades Otters, which migrate to local water bodies and are know to pull in dogs and other critters. I've seen some in the canal across from my development.)
