There will be some planned downtime starting Wednesday, June 15th at 9am EDT. The board will be closed for approximately 12 to 24 hours while we work on migrating to a new forum software. For more information on the move, check out the Board Change Announcements thread.
The derail was probably my fault because I posted some non vintage cute vinyls, but I think it's getting a little out of hand. Not that I don't appreciate some Jon Knox, it's just that I know how they like it in the vintage forums...

I don't think there's need for that. We (you and me) just need to keep in mind we're in the vintage zone!

^ I've been wondering for a while if there is an analogous thread dedicated to newschool cuties - anybody know? My searches haven't turned up anything.
While I wouldn't consider myself a 'fan' (i do not support a particular team), I watch a LOT of J League matches... I would love to start tracking these guys down. Are they in current production?

I'd say its very likely that almost nothing on this thread is in current production.

Yeah... Forgot this was the vintage section. Oops. Thought about editing to hide my stupidity, then decided to just hope no one would notice what an absolutely stupid question it was. Didn't work.

^^ haha, easily done. i made the same mistake at first and others (see above) have too! . . . . it would probably help to change the name of the thread to "cute " vintage vinyls

Found another Tom by Combex (on the right). Made me realise how much the other one is warped and leaning over . . . .
I never get tired of the bright orange vinyl Combex seemed to favour

So cute! Is there suppose to be a Jerry mouse with those cats? I assume it's Tom and Jerry?

Yeah, they are very robust squeakers. Combex used good quality squeakers in their toys so they often still work . . . which is not always the case with vintage toys!

Yeah, its Tom from T&J. I've never seen a Combex Jerry but i would assume they made one. There is very little info about Combex online. They made lots of vinyl squeakers and night-lights but no records or lists about them seem to exist. I'd love a book on them!
Here's a recent curiosity i found. Goose measuring spoons. Made by Avon . . . I think they are from the 1980's.

Re: "cute " vinyls
Found this cutie on the weekend in a retro shop. They also had an old Playmobil 'Cowboys & Indians' boxed-set that i used to have when i was a kid. I'm glad it was too expensive or i would have bought it in a fit of nostalgia! This cheeky chap was very reasonably priced.

^^ Wow . . . i assume they're vinyl and not ceramic? They are really unusual. Nice find.
Here's one i bought at a boot-sale for £1. Pretty old . . . probably Bakelite . . . the arms are soft rubber. 100mm high.
The guys at work think its creepy as hell. I agree, but i also think its cute!

^^ The chinese dog is cool . . . .
Here's a bunch i picked up for a few pence at the usual boot-sale. They all glow in the dark too, which is a nice bonus.
Does anyone know where the Lion with the 'K' is from? maybe Burger King?
Glow shots:
