Re: Bob's Burgers
^Equesticles! Yes! I personally also really enjoy watching Bob's Burgers, and I really appreciate their genuine humor without relying on tiresome running gags.
Yesterdays episode made my husband and I laugh so much we also had to pause and rewind a few times. This episode was a great combination of bronys, toy collecting adults, and specialized convention going. And the hotel scene went to an even creepier place than what my husband and I were thinking.. Both of us were bracing ourselves because we thought a "furries convention" reference was going to pop up when Bronconious took Bob to his hotel room, but no... Surprisingly, something happened that was even more disturbing!
I do hope this show will last a long time.

Haha did anyone else feel personally deceived when
The Equestical dude traded Tina the new chariot for her super rare chariot
? I found myself saying "don't do it, don't do it, don't do it".
You know what's funny yet horrible at the same time? I used to totally do that same thing back in grade school with Pokemon cards. I used to convince the young kids that they were making a great trade because I was trading TWO evolved cards for their shiny, or something ridiculous like that. I feel kind of bad about it now that I've long outlived the "manipulative brat" stage of my life, but my mind instantly went to that when watching that episode!

I know, right? I had the worst dentist as a kid, a real slimeball. He would give PEZ in "goodie bags" after you got a cavity filled, basically in a twisted attempt to get you to come back in the future. He also thought it was fun to yank my tooth out when I clearly didn't have enough anesthetic... After that botched job we switched dentists.
And gawd, Gale's apartment life reminded me how creepy cat people can be...

Haha! "PEZ, keeping dentists working since.. who the hell knows"
I thought Gayle's "Its the apocalypse, and all the men are dead so its ok I'm sleeping alone" game was kinda awesome! The way it lead into the dentist appointment made for a pretty well written episode I thought.

Okay, I'll go ahead and eat crow. After getting over my resentment about Cleveland being canceled (it's not Bob's fault... suck it FOX) and being initially weirded out by 2 of the 3 female characters being voiced-over by men, I gave the show an honest open-minded watch.
Took about 2-3 episodes for the magic to happen, but I've now seen the light. Totally different comedic style than the Macfarlane stuff, but pure comedic gold in its own right. The VO actors have a good chemistry (liked the Galifianakis and Kline characters too), and that's what nails the show home for me. I catch myself rewinding at few times an episode just to catch all the lines...
Going to reactivate my Netflix just to start watching the older seasons now. Bob is great (classic deadpan HJB style) but Louise is prob my fave of the kids... I'm really glad they got renewed for a 5th season

You KNOW Gayle collects Nags! ... I love that Tina was originally a boy named Daniel!
Thanks for the fix Dr. M. Don't get me started on pretentious "dog people" I think Nag's may be a little too pricey for Gayle though...
Considering that Eugene Mirman voices Gene on the show, it makes sense Tina's original character was named Daniel. I think the change was for the best.

Great to hear you gave it another shot Smurph! It took me a couple episodes to really start to enjoy the show too. Haha I can just imagine Gayle cuddling a nag and whispering "my baaaaaaaaaabyyy", she saves money for Nags by living in her basement apt!

Watched this Archer S4 opener the other night. Was weird to see the kids drawn up in that rigid animation style (and their uncharacteristic silence)... but cool that John Roberts came on to voice Linda.
Though conspicuously absent from the Bob's episode, it was a nice surprise to see Eugene Mirman and Kristen Schaal show up in the 2-part season closer.
