Guilty. Alot more than the $113 that I missed on 10/31, but worth it.

denounced LD as a flipper then paid up the ass to one of the most common flippers on YJA.

As far as I can tell, DYBBUKIM doesn't have a problem with flipping. He has a problem with people roasting some flippers but not others. Anyway, living dead wasn't flipping. His friend was.

That is why I said perhaps it is time to stop the anti-flip propagana, or, otherwise be consistent.

I have been trying to trade for 3 mini zags that I need for my son's collection, &/or the GID Skullpirate for myself, for over a week. I have been sending messages to several people and talking to others since the big sale went on ebay for $113 each (13) which I missed on 10/31. Had to pay out the ass or forget about the figure. I cant think anyone here would believe that I would pay that much for the hell of it. This is what I was talking about last week, partially. If I had bought a couple extra S7 Damns for trade/sale, then that might have covered it. Instead I decided to liquidate part of my collection, which I would normally prefer to keep, to pay for what I could not trade for. At least I can see my sons mini zags, but those that have met him will tell you that he has a stronger RFSO attitude that I do (His toys are his and he lets me know it!). Damn shame. Would have preferred to pay extra cash to a board member, but again when it popped up on YJA yesterday I had to make a decision, and I went for it. That is what happens when toy production is artificially low, but that is Pusheads business, not mine. And, his skullpirates are my favorite.

D,

You gotta do what ya gotta do; especially when it's for a toy you really want. I don't think anyone here will dispute that. I think had the lucky 13 not gotten theirs for a crazy nice price of $113, then the price you paid would not seem so out of whack.

The price was HIGH, but I think it's more because of the way he carried on about me selling a Damnedron on here to board members. Then he goes out and dumps that amount to a certified flipper. To each his own.

LD, you would think I flipped the skullpirate the way this is going. That's bunk. I did not even try to go for any of the other auctions after 10/31 taking the attitude of wait and see. Well, I waited and saw this sell for (wasnt it?) 35000 Yen on YJA. Then no supply has been showing up. I talked to Brian at Super 7, Pusheads pal, and was convinced by that conversation that these may not pop up very often again. Thats why when you log into skullbrain you see the glow skullpirate. Isaac is rightfully stoked that he scored the figure! This figure is extremely limited as compared to the other 3 releases, all of which I found to be fairly easy to obtain and not unreasonable in price.

38000 yen + Celga fees? One answer: Gots to have it.

I would have gladly slept in line overnight to get it, but that was not an option. The way I look at it, better to pay the money now than risk not getting the toy or paying EVEN MORE to yet another person later.

I have no problem.
You got it, that's great!
I was just surprised that YOU would pay that much for something after your post on flippers. That's it. Really I don't have a problem with you.

One thing everyone can agree on, I think, is that Pushead designed toys are the new hot item. And, as much as I love them, I think this is partially the product of low supply. If thousands of these figures were made, I wonder how popular they would be? That's a big unanswered question, and ultimately, that is Pushead business, not ours.

I am still looking for a chase gold skullwing, but may not have the cash for one for a little while. Anyone got one for sale reasonably? Oh, and just so you know, I lost the latest auction for the set on YJA because I got cheap and did not utilize the buy it now option. That also motivated me not to let this GID Skullpirate escape.

We've all been after that "must have" figure. Most of the time we go out of our way to bring costs down, since added up across 50, 100, 200 kaiju figures, it's a lot of money at stake. But pulling the trigger from time to time on a must have figure is just one of those things we do from time to time.

Will one pop up for $50 less down the road? Maybe. But now he's got it, and he can turn his energies towards work or whatever other activities he's involved in. At the end of the day, the freed up time/mental space is probably going to be worth a lot more than $50.

Yeah see I said $50 less than what he paid, which is around $300.

Personally I've held out for most of my recent "must have" figures and have had good luck over the last couple of weeks getting them for reasonable prices. Very lucky for me, my GF's friend was traveling in Tokyo recently. ;)
