I am really excited for this game. Let's go Habs!

I've got on my vintage Mahovlich jersey and the Hulkster beside me cheering them on - had them both for the two wins, but was workin' for the early Saturday loss. Here's to a repeat performance! :)

This definitely did not feel like a 0-0 game. Credit to both goalies. And, again, to the refs. We're owed one call though.

Well say what you want about Claude Julian- he really can coach. Brings a guy up who has not played in a game since I can remember and he gets the game winner. Let's not kid each other though this thing is going 7.

Yeah, great game. One that could have easily went either way with a lucky bounce or two. One of the reasons I don't like sudden death; in this case we just happened to be the victims. I think we had the slight edge in good chances, but well fought on both sides.

Disappointed that a great game ended with an ugly goal. But hey. Would have gladly taken it if it had been the Habs'... ;)

How did Rask not get a second penalty on this though?

A lot scrappier than usual, but still fun to watch! :)

Why would Rask get a penalty? Penalty for getting a stick check to the throat?

Maybe they didn't show the punch in the face he threw afterwards in Buffalo?

Didn't see that, but good for him. You don't check the goalie in the crease. I'd say the same when Soderberg checked Price. Wasn't a good thing.

Well I'll give the Habs some credit. This is the first actual game of the series the Bruins have actually looked liked the Bruins to me. The Canadiens have really held them in check previously. That third line with Yeti and Loui though has really come alive.

"Wild Hand" Bartkowski needs to cut that shit out though!

My thoughts exactly. The game started ok, but the Habs crumbled after that first goal. Ah well. We'll see if they pick themselves up on Monday.

Well, just like the Bruins returned to their form, and actually looked like the Bruins, the Habs were sure looking like the Habs of old. What team showed up tonight? When you put guys like Moen, Murray, and Prust on your bench on the same night though, can you really be surprised when they don't have the speed? Nothing was connecting, and you aren't going to beat Boston when you can't make plays or match them physically. Full credit to the Bs for sticking with the series. Man, I hope Montreal can find a rhythm again in the next one.

Oh wow, who knew the Rangers would come back from the grave against the Pens? That series is getting chippy.

Exactly. They kicked there ass tonight. Crosby looked like a scared little girl at the end.

It's funny all the apparent uses for water bottles in these playoffs. First Corey Perry, then Subban whines about Thornton, now Lundqvist squirts Crosby during a scrum:

I mean come on it's water everybody. Are you made of salt? Will you melt? Sissies and crybabies. Insulting? Sure maybe, but I'd be more mad about being cut off in traffic then being squirted with water.

While I completely agree it is being blown way out of proportion, I think the difference in the case of the Subban incident is more that it is a player on the bench interfering with on-ice play. It is only water, and didn't effect anything, but they do have send a message to keep that kind of thing in check. If a player stuck out his arm or stick and interfered with (or hurt) someone on the ice, you can bet there would be repercussions.

Oh I completely agree with it being off ice- no can do etc. I just found it funny that this year it's all watergate in the Stanley Cup playoffs. I love what Darren Pang said on TSN, about unfortunately in today's NHL cameras are everywhere so nothing goes unnoticed. Then he made a reference to his playing days and sucker punching a guy checked into his bench while he was on it. I was laughing my ass off. The good ol' days.

For what it's worth I think PK is a tremendous player. I wish he was on the Bruins!

Post Re: The good ol' hockey game
I am sure happy we have him too, my issue is that he is really arrogant in his play. He has the skills to back it up of course, so I don't fault him for it, but he's young and so much attention (and the Norris trophy) has really pumped his ego, so he does some really bonehead plays - especially when he is showboating or chirping. He plays on the edge all the time; that can get you some amazing goals but can also easily burn you. He is a great guy on the team, just needs to grow up a bit and keep in mind there is a team around him, and his actions have consequences (e.g. earning a reputation for diving). But most stars suffer this to some degree I just want him to fully realise his potential.

It was a similar situation when Price first came around and he was the golden goalie. He was young and all the media and stuff I think just got to him, which resulted in the Halak switcheroo and those couple rough seasons.

Regarding PK, yeah that's the reason Boston fans (real hockey fans not bonehead racists) hate him (arrogant) but don't worry we have our own version in Brad Marchand. Everyone who hates the Bruins hates him for sure. When he's keeping it in check and making spectacular stick handling plays or dekeing out goalies, you think "so glad we have him". When he makes one too many moves, missing wide open nets, turns it over, or is taking penalties by chirping too much- you think "shut the fuck up Brad!"
