Wow 18,000! That's about 4 semesters of the University I just enrolled in. That's a lot of coin. Someone obviously wanted it (and probably had been seeking it for quite some time) and said fuck it- I'm all in. I'm glad I haven't been looking lately, I'd probably be terrified of the pricing.

Yeah, there are a few of these 'kaiju in boats' toys. The one I think I have seen the most is Booska. You can see some photos of them in original as in Moog's advert thread. I really love that Magular though, don't recall seeing him before. I have a bit of a soft spot for any of those sculpts.

Here is a link to the Marusan Booska, though most of the images are gone now:
viewtopic.php?f=30&t=27387&p=384457&#p384457

and some of them as shown in Hero Kaiju Appraisal Catalog:

(need to scroll down a bit)

I was watching those too, Lalo. But the end prices were too high for me also. I had to settle for a few other consolation prizes.

I'm not looking, I'm not looking- I swear! OK lie, every once in a blue moon I peep YJA (usually for 10-15 minutes once a week). It's all I'll allow myself so I don't go nuts for a bit. Anyhow I did bookmark a few auctions just to see where they end up over the last few months. I expected the Flying Attack Human and Tiger 7 talkers to go much higher:

Not rare or strange but bizarre to find three unsealed King Flasher minis all for sale at once:

Artwork is great:

Nice finds, Chris. I haven't been to yahoojp in months!! I've been wanting a Kenrick Batman for quite some time, but the red version especially.

The flying attack human talker has always been a less expensive version, and this one has a lot of silver rub, and the string is inside. I think for the condition, this is what I expected/ The Tiger7 went super low. I can't tell if it had the talk box still, and the string is inside. Also, the teeth are often broken, so maybe it had a combination of all three.

Beautiful Tiger! If I remember from the description, I think this one had a crack in the vinyl on one side of his cheek. :x

Some interesting auctions ended over the weekend:

Rare Marusan Ultraman variant (different "ears"):

Megalon - unfortunately missing both antennas, but still pretty rare to see.

I was checking out that Kikaida auction. Never saw that toy before. That's a whole lot of change for it though!

I was watching the three first auctions, but the last time I saw the Bullmark kaiju was in 7,000¥, now that I see the end price I stayed astonished.
Somebody knows why the high price?

Do you mean the Kameba auction (the third one I posted)? Its hard enough finding a bagged vintage Bullmark vinyl. Add to that the fact that this is a hard to find variant (its a Hawaiian version according to Club Tokyo), and you have a $3.5K toy, ;)

Thank you for the info, It was very helpful!
The Bullmark Hawaiian versions usually have the best colors.

I'd love to see that bagged Kameba in person just to compare his colors with "typical" loose ones (not that I have one!). I've noticed that the colors on bagged vinyls from 40 or so years ago vary quite a bit from loose specimens. And that scares me. It'd be fine if we knew for certain that that was simply because the toy wasn't exposed to pollutants in the air, sunlight, or whatever...but it'd be another thing altogether if the slight color difference turned out to be caused by some weird reaction with the bag plastic...

I can almost say with some sort of certainty that the off-gassing of the vinyl from those toys trapped in a contained environment (the bag itself made of chemicals) for that length of time (40+ years- perhaps even under controlled conditions) has some sort of effect on the paint and/or vinyl. I know for sure the clear helmet displayed on the arm in my bootleg Fireman (sealed inside a bag) caused some sort of discoloration of the arm:

viewtopic.php?f=30&t=44912&hilit=fireman

It would be cool to conduct some sort of scientific experiment, but then again we'd be all old men by the time we would maybe see results. I'm always curious with the chemical composition of these toys.

Even with new(er) toys, I have seen this discolouration of the painting occur when they have been 'incubating' in their plastic. Mind you, my experience has been that the vintage baggies are not nearly as airtight and the plastic is more porous, and the paint tends to be lighter applications and less susceptible, but still, it is a concern to me, if I ever shelled out that kind of money for a vintage bagged toy.

Hawaii Edition Sufenodon. There are two others on yahoo currently, but with significantly higher price tags.

The Kikaida Mechanical Boy has been a grail search of a toy of mine for years. This is the first I had seen in a box. I honestly expected it to go for more based on how crazy boxed toys have been lately, maybe it slipped under the radar somehow.

I know this action don't have nothing of strange and rare, but not so often you can see a complete giant Ninja Arashi.
Sold for 68,000¥ in YJP.

I agree with you!
But I have a doubt with the color of the scarf, I think it must be purple and I think the gown is missing two stars at the top.

I am not sure. I don't recall right now seeing a minty or sealed giant sized figure for a reference. I know the standard size had the usual purple scarf, but I think the giant sized might be right with the white. Jim's pic in the NA thread I think shows this as well. The stars are definitely missing though. Does anyone happen to know if there ever was a matching giant sword for this figure too? That would be a great thing to add to the reproduce (*or maybe 'produce' in this case) weapons thread.
