Sad news indeed. So few still left with us from when music was music. We need the rebuttal of bands like the Ramones to the general crap out there now more than ever. RIP Tommy.

I just read the NYT obit for Tommy which notes that it was only a few months ago in April that the Ramones' 1st LP finally reached "gold" status by selling 500,000 copies since it was first released 38 years ago. Given how influential that record is, I'm shocked it sold on average only 13,000 copies per year.
