Actually, if anyone has access to any 3 Floyds beer I'd be interested in working something out. They don't distribute anywhere close to Philly and I am beyond obsessed with acquiring any of their beers to try.

After these posts I went to one of the largest package stores in my area.
I was all excited to grab some of these great beers for the weekend, er, Wednesday night.
(we call the liquor store a "package store" here in New England )

No Southern Tier Pumking Ale
No Oskar Blues Freedom Tickler French Saison
No St. Peter's Lemon & Ginger

Lucky for me I did find some Atwater Vanilla Java Porter and Southern Tier 2XStout.
I also grabbed a bottle of the St. Peter's Cream Stout as a consolation.

I highly recommend the Freedom Tickler French Saison but I had it on tap at a bar
and the owner told me it was from the ONLY keg sent to all of Connecticut!

I'm hitting up Snallygaster 2013 on Saturday, which is DC's big craft beer fest and the beer list is about 200 deep. I am at a loss where to start. It's incredibly impressive and they will have lots of great cask beers on hand. I'm going to post the link to the beer list. If anyone feels like recommending anything off the list, give me a shout.

^^ wow. I'm really jealous. That looks like an amazing fest. Jolly pumpkin makes good stuff. But i dont think ive even had anything from that list.

sounds really interesting... though I could never try it because of my nut allergy. Chestnuts are a big thing in a lot of the new wave of Italian breweries. I'm sure Jolly Pumpkin did something cool with it.

Just popped open a wonderful Sanctification (sour blonde) by Russian River. I'm pairing it with buffalo pizza from lazaro's.

Happy! Managed to get myself a big box of Quebec beers!

I have to say, I think Quebec has one of the most interesting brew scenes in North America. Lots of breweries doing lots of interesting things.

While I was in Virginia,

its almost September & the pumpkin ales are starting to hit the shelves. If you love SouthernTier's Pumking, try Warlock.

^We are able to get some of Southern Tier's beers through specialty stores down here, I pretty much love anything those folks make. Their oak-aged cuvee releases were tasty as hell.

I picked one of these up for myself.

So far it hasn't disappointed.
Lots of great beers and a wide selection of styles. So far, stout, xmas, old ale, sour ale, white IPA, red IPA, IPA, honey ale, octoberfest... haven't opened today's window yet.

In the spirit of xmas , I enjoyed some SlyFox 2014 Christmas Ale along with Southern Tier's 2Xmas. Both are clove spiced Swedish Glogg type ales.



Also!^^^ For those who don't know, it's only the highest rated beer in the world at the moment on Beer Advocate, & literally trades for bars of gold.

One of my Favs is the Breckenridge Oatmeal Stout, love this art.

The Highland Oatmeal Porter is really tasty as well.

i used to drink this stuff all the time when i lived in vermont. great beer after a long day on the slopes. right up there with my other vermont favorite,, switchback

I don't think Iv had many beers from the Vermont area, that looks interesting. I will have to check those out.

I have one can left if anyone wants to make me an obscene offer. My brother said the beer flipper scene is 100x worse than sofubi.

Save me a sip or two for when I finally come visit.

Vermont has a really great beer scene. Everyone knows magic hat, but there are so many superior beers in the region. Many of them can only be found local and some only in kegs at bars/pubs, so a trip is definitely recommended.

My favorites are as follows:

Trout river rainbow red
Heady topper
Shed mountain ale
I know I'm forgetting at least 1,, it's been years

Thanks for those, I am planning to try your recommendations. You guys like unfiltered wheats? There is this brewery I just found out about from St Louis called Boulevard and they make an unfiltered wheat which is pretty damn good. Comes in a box which is pretty cool.
