Re: Shikaruna Koubo Database- updated 2/18/12
This Gaezal was listed as a one-off, but I think it is an older version, not a new one-off. It was probably made at the time of the GID version released in Siccaluna's first year (2007). Several reasons. I don't think there has been a Gaezal run in GID since then. The paint work is much simpler than the current one-offs. Finally, it uses the same colors as the production GID version, just in a different arrangement.

This GID Gaezal is really nice. I've not seen this colorway, probably need to look at the database again, as I don't remember seeing this. The only GID I've seen photos of, is the one that has the Hawaiian/Pastel sprays. Would love to track this colorway down after I recover from SDCC.

Daniel I think you're right: early one -off. I can't be sure but I think I remember seeing a pic of this on their original website. Then again I could be completely wrong, it's been 7 years. Beautiful toy, where on earth did you find it?! Sort of looks like a GID counterpart to this limited 5 piece run (week 2 Gaezal):
I've been waiting for these to come out since their preview. But I am not fond of the color choice. Kind of boring.

Interesting that Siccaluna would turn to the Kamen no Ninja Akakage characters, particularly since Dream Rocket has been producing them for years. These are also two that Dream Rocket has not done- Kairyuu and Oogama.
was just about to ask about the diy flesh monsters also, i tried emailing Amy but got no response, last i heard was they ran into some problems with the factory
i dont even remember when i placed the order

Looks like the unpainted monsters are finally shipping from Lulubell. It's only been, what, 7 months. Quite a wait time for unpainted, un-assembled toys

Late to the party by 2 months but just saw some pics of the Live Action Gigantor T28 Shikaruna did. Impressive sculpt! If they do another colorway I might get drawn in...

I'd prefer different colors too, but absolutely fun sculpts.

Not much difference in styling except for the belly swirls, but here's the latest version. This time with a spider omake, instead of the eagle.

Between the two sets, I kinda prefer the first release. I could do without either of the omake sculpts though.

They almost look like they could be Marmits.

Thanks for the heads up. I purchased and received the second set actually a few months. I like the second set colors better because it matches the box art. Where the first set is more color accurate to the movie. There is silver highlighting on the blue dragon which isn't doesn't show up on the stock photos. I prefer the spider omake.

Not sure if my photos do it justice. But here you go.
Also the dragon horns can rotate.

Oh no problem. I know they'd been sitting around the shop for a little bit, but hadn't been mentioned here, so, you know. Ha, that's awesome that you had already gotten em when I was kinda pitching it to you. And Very cool that you found a version you liked since you were so excited about the sculpts. Good Stuff!
I too like these guys a lot, Especially that dragon sculpt. Though they're both fun, with the frogish one a bit goofy in that good Shikaruna way. I do see that silver now. Thanks for the pic. I think I just prefer the look of the more muted tones from the first set on these figures better. And although the two omakes look like an afterthought to me, perhaps they're inclusion would make more sense if I was familiar with the characters that they're based on (I'll have to go back through the episodes). Between the two, I would most certainly rather have the spider though. I think I saw the same eagle on a desk at the bank yesterday.
Had no idea there was a movie. Thanks! I'll have to check it out.

It's English title is Magic Serpent. Haven't seen it for a long time. Fun old movie which is actually about ninja's being able to transform in to those kaiju.

Ha, I was way off base.
