Re: New Butanohana
Well the posts are video captures of a show, albeit one Butanohana chooses to use for some of his toys but he's not the only person ever to make them into toys. Perhaps you can see where if someone were clicking on this thread via a mobile device, such as the ipad I'm using now, the page takes forever to load due to the amount of pictures. Not trying to quell your passion for source material, just I get mislead into thinking some new Butanohana toy info has surfaced.
The thread was started specifically for new Butanohana toy discussion years ago, as the database thread was made to compile all the toys in one post. Jared 's Mo' Buta thread was started to capture pics of the toys as most threads are in the "Show Your Collection" forum. I highly encourage a thread for source material.

Re: New Butanohana
Again, I don't entirely disagree with your points, Chris, but I want to clarify something for you: The only time that any of the characters I covered but one were made into a toy it was by Buta. They're the only ones that exist by anybody, anywhere. Aghira, for what it's worth, was licensed from, sculpted and painted to reflect his appearance on Chibira-Kun.
I would like for there to be a thread or two more about source material here, sure, but I still don't see any problem with posting about a maker's passion project in a thread dedicated to his toys.
Brace yourself, this page is going to have to host two more posts similar to the ones on page 56 soon. I'll talk to James about some solutions once I've finished the project.

Re: New Butanohana
There's a fine line between passion and sheer annoyance.
Quit jacking every thread related to Butanohana in the name of one of your "personal projects".

Re: New Butanohana
Personally I appreciate David's efforts here (and in other threads). The screencaps are relevant to the toys here, though the large images do load very slowly. Maybe hide most of them under spoilers? I wouldn't check this thread for actual toy info any time soon anyway, as it's so soon after a release.

Re: New Butanohana
^ Nope, it's Mandrake unloading Mandrake's collection: Those are all of the toys that they couldn't sell during the two Zenbu auctions earlier this year. The fun part is that they raised the price on most of them! Whee.

Re: New Butanohana
^^^Thanks for the update! I was wondering where all of those came from. It's a shame they are so expensive . A pink Big Lips also sold recently at auction for just over 35000 JPY, so I guess Mandarake is following their pricing on that example . What's weird is that a Dorobon, flew out of Mandarake for a very "cheap" price! Ok, another question please... Are these two the same versions? versus or is there a new "cream" version that I'm not aware of? Didn't see the top version in the database. Help please.

Re: New Butanohana
^ Same toy, sis. From '11. The base vinyl is a sort-of chartreuse.

Perhaps you should publish a toy robbery ad in your local paper, and pixelate "M"'s logo!

Re: New Butanohana
Sooooo, I got Zazahn, Jamila, and Zarab Postman in the mail today. Something seems off from the Butanohana of the past. I know he mentioned using softer vinyl in one of his blog entires (maybe February?) but these don't even seem like Butanohana toys?! They seem bigger than normal, very soft (Jamilla popped right in half upon unpacking). They almost seem like how toys were bootlegged in the 70's.
I mean I suppose Butanohana is going more eco friendly but I like the hard vinyl crude detailed sculpts of the past. These feel like how bathtub rubber duckies feel? Maybe I'm just losing my mind because the only two new Butanohana toys I've bought recently were Red King mini (very hard vinyl) and Reissue OG Red King (oldschool hard vinyl) and I'm just overwhelmed getting three new toys at once.
What do others think upon opening the new toys?

Re: New Butanohana
I haven't gotten mine yet, but I don't really mind the softness too much, but I guess I prefer more rigid. the red king joe was very soft and the peanut micro sets too. I dunno why he would use it all the time tho. I thought the micros because then you don't need heat to mix and match.. my king joe had a piece come apart when I was setting him up.. the robot teacher from chibira kun (name escapes me at the moment) is also super soft and squishy.
I remember that post about trying to find eco alternatives but I thought he mentioned it wasn't working or he didn't like it.. so maybe the softness has nothing to do with that, or maybe he figured it out and it does.

Re: New Butanohana
^^^ I just realized I used the word Butanohana about 8 times in two sentences, edited lol.
Yeah I'm probably going a tad crazy. I'm by no means rejecting them and tossing them to the curb, but hey are definitely a lot softer than the older toys. It's quite noticeable. I'll try and put some pics up tomorrow.
