hmmm...I thought the Gatchaman listing ended with buyer aya***** winning it for 183,000 yen although I could be mistaken.

Same here. I can only assume they got offered a price for the Ninja Arshi and the Gatchaman and took it since both ended early.

I am disappointed that the listing for the loose Ninja Arashi talker was prematurely ended by the seller as it looked to be in pretty good shape. I would have liked to see how that listing would have ended in a competitive bid.

I think that was the last Gatchaman talker that came up.

Ive been quietly trying to get the V3 minis for the last 3 or 4 years. I have a few and getting one gives me alot of joy because they are wonderful and rare but expensive for mini's .... over the last couple of days a seller has been selling almost the whole set, cool I can add one or maybe 2 more to my gang

BUT NO

Same buyer dropped about 3 grand and hogged them all - at sucker prices - HA enjoy them

one missing image ... scissors jaguar went for about 30 also.

^ I was surprised how much those went for also. I was thinking of bidding on the razor starfish guy before it got bananas.

Also from this morning. I knew the black variants were tough to find but holy shit.

This being a prime example...

I shouldn't have like black toys.
Black seems to be generally more expensive for vintage or current sofubi alike, i wonder why?!

I guess this is a pretty rare color variant of King Zaurs. Beautiful piece.

Small story for data: This was one of *two* toys I was searching for for over ten years in 2010. To qualify "searching" would mean every single day of those ten years, no shit. Another talker auction not noted did happen in around 2010.

Brian can attest to me pestering the hell out of him about the giant-sized Nakajima Zone Fighter.

This Masudaya Zone talker was the other toy. The Nakajima nodding doll (three of them in a row, actually) came up for auction on Yahoo Japan. The first, pretty much mib, went for about $3400. I wasn't prepared for that. When the next one came up, I was on a mission - my wife fairly insisted I make it happen. (no really, I got that lucky) I won my nodding Zone for a lot less. I will admit that I was fairly speechless that she would support me on something like this, so I just felt obligated to say that I would leave the big toy purchases at this one. I would, as a testament to my commitment, leave any YJ Zone talker auction I saw alone; it was the only thing I was really on the hunt for.

Within something like two months, a Zone talker auction came up on Yahoo Japan. It was in absolutely incredible condition - no paint rubs and more importantly (and rare) - a perfectly shaped casting and not bent or slumping. It started at around 1000 yen. I couldn't believe it. Here was the fucking test. I copied the beautiful photos the seller posted, all on a black background. They were amazing reference shots, actually (on a disc somewhere). This toy was even better looking than the great photo Yuji had in his book. Such a badass sculpt.

I left the auction alone. It went for $500.00

Cheers

That's will power Mike! Considering this joker went for 10x that. Your wife is definitely a keeper. Not many ladies will put up with their guy having a "vintage toy habit". Me and the missus don't even talk about the elephant in the room anymore but she's a keeper anyhow. Anyone that can deal with me for as long as she has...

This is the enterprise version. It is the last enterprise that I need. In the last year Enterprise versions have become quite sought after. I didn't see that auction, but the price is much higher than I would pay. Very interesting.

Also, those KR enemies - there are two sizes. The normal middle size are more common and usually fairly affordable. The black version is from the middle size vinyls. That lot of 30,000 yen vinyls are the slightly smaller series vinyls holding up one arm and have always been very difficult to get and about $250-300 a vinyl.

True story. You chased the giant zone nodder as it was your grail on the first (that went for crazy money) and second (which you finally won) which allowed me to be able to get the third. I have not really seen one since. That was a very weird set of three in rapid succession. Glad that you were able to get it then (as opposed to now).

was that talker the broken finger one? I wish I would have seen that talker auction!

Not really rare but the condition of this Bandai Standard Chameleon is superb. Usually you see this particular character quite torn up on YJA, and almost always missing boots/belt:

Image

Much less common than the Giant version for some reason. I had to do a double take on the pics because they looked so good I thought they were photoshopped at first.

Thanks for capturing the pics Chris! Just wish I had the ammo to go after that Chameleon. He's gorgeous, and looks like he just came out of the toy mold yesterday. Considering he's over 40, it's a miracle to see one that clean! Makes you wonder if he came out of someone's closet or an old warehouse or ??? I think the last standard sizes, ended up in that same price range, so someone was really lucky.

That is so strange, as I was just going to share that same set which sold a few days ago from Mandarake. Much less, but without the primary package - just the backing card. Which is considerably better for me, as I would need to play around with these guys anyways. :)

Image

I wanted to say how excellent these figures were, I have seen the KR loose before, but not the villains and especially not the full set. It was the robot on the left that really had me amazed. I just love them. Very pricey, but such a nice set of mini puppets.

I was watching that YJA V3 auction ... same buyer that paid silly money on V3 minis I posted up the page. It is a beautiful set but - 500 bucks extra to get the header card!

The robot on the left is TV Fly ( テレビバエ )

I think Medicom is making a new standard size TV Fly vinyl offering this month for pre-order?

Hmmmm! I wonder if these are the ones that just popped up in the Mandarake store (going for 55000 JPY a piece)?

Well it might be an easy mystery to solve since we know two of the Mandarake Yahoo ID's. What was the winning bidders name (well first three letters)?

Apparently lov**** was not done with rare KR minis:

ImageImage
ImageImage[

I love green, and I love green and black but NOT at those prices. Hell for that price I'd 3d print my own in those vinyl colors and paint them myself. Probably have some to spare.

I think i posted this link before but Amazing Toy blog has some good pics of variations on some KR minis. Just when you think there are only a few, guess again- lots of them, including sculpt variants. Vintage is like a never ending puzzle:
