Re: New Butanohana
Is there a way to buy his books through Amazon Japan or anything?

Re: New Butanohana
My kids love the Tara book. Would have loved for the S-Taiin one to be a bit more easily findable... Is it just me or is the painting on the last set sort of... Sloppy?

Re: New Butanohana
Could be what alerted him to whatever problem sent him into surgery.. Definitely looks like the kind of paint app you would do if you had pain/had unstability in your hand. Although from what I've seen, his paint has always been a bit sloppy and that's part of the charm PS Thanks for the link toothaction!

Re: New Butanohana
Postman Ikarus is the same. The letter bag is similarly sloppy. It's just a part of the Buta aesthetic/charm.

Re: New Butanohana
It's not my first Buta, I know the style, but I thought it was going a bit far this time. The shoulder strap on only one side is also... I dunno. I don't feel it, but it will make someone else happy, I'm sure!

Re: New Butanohana
I think the arm position is the reason for the front strap ommission. It may have looked weird to blend just the top of a strap into the arm, as the arm would technically be covering most of the front.

Re: New Butanohana
I would not consider it sloppy at all. He doesn't use masks and paints large areas of details in by hand. Laying down vcolor like that is not easy and has to be done thick and quick or it streaks or you have to do two layers. Considering he probably paints those details in a few seconds its pretty damn good and will vary from toy to toy. Looks very similar to any other hand painted details of that size hes done in the past.

An adjusted palette for some familiar faces. Choosers would have preferred a new sculpt or two; beggars are happy anyway.

^^^ Yep: He debuted as part of the drop from the beginning of May, 2013. Please pardon the Booskas.

The last drop gave us Zazahn, Jamila and Postman Zarab. He could follow that release with just about anything and it wouldn't have been as well received. Of the new guys, the Dodongo is my favorite.

Super excited for new mini's! I really hope we continue to see more of these little sets released, the paint really brings them to life.

Re: New Butanohana
^ Absolutely agree. The micros have gone from "meh" to "must have" with the addition of paint.

Fantastic paint! Just love it. That Woo is touching me in my soft, creamy center.

Aaaaaaand it's over: Micros were gone in under a minute, but the rest of it lasted almost a half hour. Craziest thing.

^^^ Hey Joe, does it drive you crazy that of all the hundreds of toys that Our Man Buta has put out only one of them is black? Full-size funsies:

Re: New Butanohana
Aside from the minis, I think the Antlar is the stunner of the bunch.
