I love some patchi stuff and homages can be great and I have never really cared about copyrights but to just mold and cast someone's stuff like this just isn't cool at all. None of this stuff is "inspired by" anything. They are just manufacturing other peoples work.

I like when people take ideas and spin them or twist them or invent them all over again but this is just pouring silicone and then pouring resin.

Tried to report this scumbag to eBay but no dice. Honestly, I think because he puts each listing up for such a short time, by the time eBay gets to it it's already over. Lame as heck.

Agreed. It looks... Greasy? Dirty? I have no idea, but those are not smooth surfaces at all, and it almost looks like some kind of weird dark residue is in some of the corners. Those hands are jacked too.

Any respectable resin-slinger would throw that on the miscast pile or work to sand away the imperfections.

What annoys me the most is the talentless hack is obviously managing to sell this shit, and for quite a bit of money too . . . .
whilst truly creative makers struggle to cover costs etc. He's profiting from other people's hard work.
I'm perplexed as to why ebay would let that continue.

They are selling legitimate sofubi too but i suppose they've decided to make more profit selling dodgy bootlegs.

For the most part ebay doesn't care at all. They make money off every listing and more if something sells regardless of whether stuff is real or fake. It's not just toys either. Electronic bootleg stuff, shoes, clothes and so much jewelry.

Several months ago I was taken by an ebay seller who was selling very expensive very fake jewelry. The listing was great and his feedback was perfect. I knew as soon as it showed up that I was had. The stuff wasn't even marked as gold, just gold plated and the jewel itself was actually just glass. Contacted the seller for a refund and he offered a partial discount(I mean seriously I paid nearly a thousand dollars for something not worthy of a claw machine in an arcade)and refused to let me return the thing. So I went through ebay channels and provided proof and had to wait weeks for the seller to ignore the request then I had to escalate to a case which was also ignored then finally ebay forced a refund. I left buyer beware feedback afterwards. Then not even a week later the same seller had the same exact piece up for sale the same exact way again. Plus he got the feedback I left removed by ebay! So I contacted ebay and described what happened in detail and they didn't really care and refused to do anything about it.
