Meh. One of those "slow burn" movies whose payoff isn't worth the 2 hour wait.

Went old school black and white classics for the last couple nights...

The Mummy
Dracula
Black Sunday

And I simply must have some horror/comedy in the mix..... this is just one of the best movies ever.

Would you suggest watching the old one first or not? I got the new one and the old one is on netflix but I am not sure which should come first.

The original is great. I'd recommend it to anyone. Cool cinematography, kind of like an American Argento at times.

Watched The Blair Witch Project a few nights ago. I felt like I've seen it too many times to get spooked any more, but still enjoyed it. The movie has its passionate detractors and was certainly overhyped in its original release but I think it's a fine little film, the best of the found footage thrillers.

I've never seen "Forrest Gump." Is that one scary?

The new one's not a remake, more of a "continuation," correct?

The first one is kind of goofy. The scenes with the killer are decent, pretty creepy, but all the stuff with the cops is like an episode of the Andy Griffith show. If they had kept the mood consistent throughout it could have been a real creepfest.

haha, as a joke I used to tell people my favorite scary movie was Beaches (Bette Midler)
but I've actually never seen it (maybe it's great?).

I remember Sci-Fi Channel's "Curse of the Blair Witch" was a primer that was scarier and more interesting than the movie!

Yes, Lttr Prssd. It's 10 years later in the same town but it keeps referring back to the original murders and the original film.

Housebound is the last movie I watched. It had a bit of a "The People Under the Stairs" feel to it. I really thought it was a great movie.

Unhinged for me. Not a great movie but still has some 80's slasher charm.

Had a Harkins Theater showing of the original Halloween here Tuesday night. It was pretty fun getting to see a favorite of mine on the big screen first the first time.

Watched "A Simple Life" and "Nebraska". Both films about the final stages of life. Getting old can be scarier than any axe wielder.

The horror version of Forrest Gump:
"Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what your going to get until you cut them open and see whats inside. All those little lives. So much inside. So gooey."

I didn't make it to the end of Nebraska. I like Will Forte but I just wasn't enjoying that film.

there is probably a better place to post this, but if anyone is looking for a new anime series to get into, I highly recommend Tokyo Ghoul (Toukyou Kushu). Season 2 is slated for January, if you like watching people eat other people, you don't want to miss this series.

Not gonna lie, the end of that movie screwed with my head for months when I was a kid.

Just found out The Babadook is out! Been drooling in anticipation of this movie for months and months.
