Wouldn't both of those really be considered a toy anyway?

she wold probably give me an over-sized helmet and a pair of chaps because she knows I would never get it out of the drive way.

Motorcycles rock, but there needs to be a separate lane for them. I had a sportbike when I was an undergrad in college, but I sold it. There are too many crazy car drivers. Riding a motorcycle just isn't safe.

Dude about 2 moths ago during a job I was doing. Me and my boy when in dead stop traffic when some asshole was weaving in in out of traffic when a car tried to switch lanes. The dude hit the back of the car behind us and few right past my window. His fucking leg alost got ripped off. Saw the whole inside of his knee cap. Fucking gross.

just gotta ride smart.
I been accident free for 22 years now,daily, all weather in the city and out... been riding for 34 years.I had a really bad wreck in 1982, on a Yamaha FJ1100...but I was racing and it was my own fault. that one cost me an inch of my right leg and 6 weeks in traction.
jesus time flies. I got my first motorcycle when i was 11. little Bultaco dirt bike.

Thanks for the advice but i've been riding since i was 10 and i'm now 35-Not talking about riding like a moron but ride strong and make yourself obvious.If you ride in a meek fashion you'll blend in w/your surroundings too much...People just dont see bikers anymore..Loud pipes,riding the middle of your lane where peeps can see you etc-Just having a little fun w/the situation...I have taught parts(volunteer) of the MSF safe riding course here-Besides i've got a hog-can't go too nuts on a Fatboy...I actually ripped my jaw off of my skull on a dirt bike when i was 16 yrs old..Did a face plant off of a 20 foot jump and landed on my head..Docs reassembled me and no worse for the wear..

Cool timing with this post.
I'm about to go out and get licensed to ride here.
I dont know what it's like for licensing in US but here you:
a) complete a 2 day rider training course which enables you to;
b) take a Learner Rider's Permit.
Then you wear the L plates for a minimum period of time which I've forgotten right now and ride a bike which is within a select list of bikes that have a certain power to weight ratio. (most 250's are ok, most 600's are not).
Then you get your Provisional riders licenseby completing a provisional riding assessment and knowledge test, and wear a P plate with particular engine capacity and speed restrictions.
After that all good.
Over 30 rules are different but I cant wait another 4 years
