It's really great watching them push the envelope of details, sizes, and types of materials too. I think Skinner's work is perfect for this.
While it might not be hand sculpted vintage style, it's definitely awesome looking evolution! I think the bottom line is: only an idiot looks a gift horse in the mouth. Who says "No" when someone offers to make their toys/designs for free? Unless they're stiffing you on the deal, you'd have to be amazingly dim or egotistical to pass up any opportunity to get your toys into people's homes. When opportunity knocks....you say "YES!"

I made the mistake of disregarding something because it wasn't sofubi before... that was a mistake... Unbox are definitely push it with this one, bravo!

Not many of us have the thousands of dollars to make the molds, or the connections with the industry to get it done. I sure don't. I love DIY but sometimes it's just not feasible. Unbox is driven by one guy who has a lifelong passion for toys & art, like I said, a dream to "work" with.

Unbox seems to be pretty kick ass. I have a hard time buying it because its not "Sofubi" but honestly all the work they are doing looks spectacular. Paul, Jeff you guys make great points. Its great that a company will go above and beyond like this. Plus this Lolgot Gnazgoroth is beautifully done..

Need one. Skinner's work is nuts as is, and this thing looks like it's just pushing the creativity. Totally sweet homage to Lovecraft as well.

I saw it in person today and the level of detail is insane. I can't wait to see this all painted up.

Re: Lolgolth Gnazgoroth: Skinner and Unbox Industries
Before I saw it in person it reminded me of something from my childhood. When I was a child my babysitters nephew lived on the property in a trailer. His wife had all kinds of mini statues of ghouls, goblins, dragons, skinny amazon fighter ladies with huge bosom and bottom. The living room was covered in them. This piece would fit right in. The detail is insane... there is soo much going on in this figure. Skinner is by far one of the greatest collaborators in the game!!! *takes off hat*

Re: Lolgolth Gnazgoroth: Skinner and Unbox Industries
Thanks for uncovering this old thread, I'm curious about this piece too after seeing it! Probably not going to buy because it just wouldn't really fit in my collection, but I would sure like to see it painted up.
