Personal preference is for spray finishes rather than the clears/plains . . . with the right combo that'd look killer!

Hey Frank, what is the sculpting charge for something like that? Is it a cost that is separate from the actual manufacturing of the toy? Or is it a combined cost? Just curious.......

depends on the situation. sometimes I use a 'private' sculptor, in which case I pay them.
example: Mao...guy in St Louis did it cost me 3500.00
the big run Chinese stuff they have their own in house people its folded in to the over-all cost.
with these theres a basic cost for the whole thing as well.The Japanese stuff is pretty expensive to make thats why the toys cost so much, but the quality is out of sight.

I will prolly make:
blue and silver 1954 godzilla pattern
green and white 1954 godzilla pattern
gid and orange
3 clear colors
metallic chrome or suspended aluminum
WW will make some colors as well,thats up to them to choose.

whats that? you know, like he's wearing a suit and shoes and has briefcase,human body etc. but minster head and hands..er..tentacles.
but maybe kinda chubby and 'cuter' than the Ika Gilas first iteration.

So Frank, why is flesh colored vinyl used for prototypes? Kaiju Zoo had a posting about flesh colored prototypes awhile back. Thought you might know since your in the loop with the approval of prototypes and all that. Or is it just tradition?

no idea why flesh. maybe its from when they used to make flesh colored doll toys a lot and it sort of became standard? or perhaps its a good nuetral color to let you see how the sculpt looks ? it is a damn ugly color.

these will prolly be around 80 bucks, maybe less, it depends on what they end up costing me. at one point I will do a hand-painted release, now that I have a steady source for V color.
