I got all four of mine out my senior year. I couldn't eat anything for a few days so I had my girlfriend chew up pizza and feed it to me like I was a baby bird
But really it's no big deal You'll be fine

1 good experience with 1.
1 bad experience with another.
it broke off inside and i had to have it taken out twice cause there was a small piece that became impacted.
I got dry socket both times. worst pain ever.

I had the same experience as lurker with one tooth exploding during extraction. There was no pain except afterward, which was just a headache, but that's about it.
I went to a dentist school too. That was the scariest part.

no big deal....
easy. I missed the opening of the original Batman movie (that was June 23rd 1989)
but it was painless...
if you do what the doctor says you wont get Dry Sockets...
gargle with hot salt water, drink lots of fluids, etc...
seriously no big deal!

i had mine out when I was 19, procedure was smooth and had no problems with recovery. Some soreness but that's what the percodin is for. All you need is a competent dentist and the ability to follow post-op instructions.

No big deal at all. I had all 4 of mine pulled exactly 1 week after my girl had all 4 of hers taken out. We both made it through no problemo
Actually with the nitrous it was kinda one of the funniest times I've ever had. It reminded me of Fear and loathing in Las Vegas !!
I was laughing when they where taking them out. And the last tooth had to be broken apart and taken out piece by piece. Again NO pain what so ever.
I was scared also but knowing what I did now, I wouldnt have lost any sleep over it.
Dont worry you will be just fine. Just tell them pump that nitro up nice and high and you wont feel a thing

I told her it's no big deal.
I was sooooooo scared and thought it was going to be the worst pain ever and then was so mad at myself for not just getting it over with earlier when I realized how not a big deal it was.
I hope she says/does some crazy shit when she's on the drugs though.
I'll post anything wacky she says here, I promise.

Wasn't bad at all, only weird part was waking up somewhat during it but didnt open my eyes. Just heard LOTS of crunching in my jaw and pulling....woke up later telling all of them for 15 mins that I had been abducted. Honestly the worst part was just that feeling of gauze in the mouth, so I think you will be fine.

Sodium Penathol (sp?) is a wonderful thing. Do not use local - let them knock you out .
Then make Skylar wait on you hand and foot.

My dentist is a super cool guy, but doesn't really utilize drugs of any sort - had all of mine out with just novocaine and Tylenol afterwards. No problems, almost no pain. I felt the same way Skylar did - like, why did I wait so long? You'll be fine.

I did it on my lunch hour, came back to work and finshed the day out. Nothing to it, painless!

I had all four of mine out (including one that was totally under the gum and had to be cut out) under local anesthetic. It took about 45 min and my mom made me go grocery shopping (we're right there) afterwards. Other than me dribbling blood during the shopping it was fine.
Oh, and it was on valentine's day. I haven't cared about the stupid holiday ever since.
I was able to eat pretty soon after but it took forever to fully heal. You get these disgusting flappy areas where they used to be and food gets stuck in them. Totally gross but not that painful.
Anyway, it's not that big a deal - Don't worry.

Awwww... what fun is that? The full anaesthesia is the best part of the whole deal.

I was all set to be gassed and novacained and I have a big time fear of needles so I was sucking in the gas as much as I could. Nothing. Didn't work. Lucid as hell. They put a towel over my eyes to "keep the area clean". Swell. But I think my favorite part was the doctor saying, "now you're going to hear some thing that sounds like a saw".
Actually the best part was when they took the towel off and his glass and mask were sprayed with blood.
But honestly the tools are so f-ing sharp I didn't feel them cutting except when they hit bone to get two of the impacted ones.
And after it was just a stiff jaw and bloody spit for a few days.

The gas is the best part of any dental procedure.
I always get a tank to go.
Feel better soon Missy!
