Not going to pay pay-per-view prices but interested and curious about the hype.
Will have to wait for a torrent and avoid any news sites unfortunately....

Post Re: Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao
I am not such a big boxing fan, but this fight was something I wanted to see happen years ago already. I think Mayweather just kept putting it off until he thought he had a chance. I wasn't expecting the Pacquiao of old, but was still in the camp rooting for his win. It wasn't such a great bout in the end, and I would not day Mayweather defeated Pacquiao by any stretch, but it is done now, and one more thing Mayweather can go touting everywhere to his entourage.

I was soo glad I was invited to a barbecue to watch it at the last minute, otherwise would've paid for it, not what i expected from Manny at all.

It was free to air here in Italy, watched it this morning.
Sad to see such an idiot win but that's how things went.

My grandfather called it "the last great sport". He sure loved his boxing. That was a different time though.

But really, I'm pretty sure the Australian light-weight champion could have taken both of them

At least this was entertaining ;)

I think MMA is waaaay more exciting than boxing, but have given up on that as well. At least you can still see exciting knockouts and crazy submissions though. The fighters have the opposite problem in MMA: most don't make ENOUGH in that sport. Plus there are too many weight classes, too many fighters to keep up with, a lot of wrestling-esque drama, and it's occasionally too brutal for me to even enjoy. And the drug culture in MMA is still a severe problem.

But it is much more interesting than watching Floyd dance.

I guess I am the minority here.

I enjoyed the fight. Mayweather deserved the win, His defence was brilliant as per usual.

boxings way of scoring will hopefully die now. mayweather did what he needed to to win. Throw a couple of punches then run. No way to know if the better fighter wins with the current scoring system. At least with Tyson you had no doubt who the better boxer was. Its the reason MMA will surpass it. Plus with this fight -so many casual fans felt that they didn't get their monies worth I doubt there will be another big payout like this. I respect Pac (to old) for giving it a shot and I'm glad I didn't pay to watch it . :)

Post Re: Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao
Been a Mayweather fan for quite some time now. Since he came out in sombreros and wearing red white and green. Dude is skilled at his craft. He's not the most exciting fighter to watch. But he does in fact "Box". Funny thing is I came across a interview last night from November of 09. Talking about if he fought pacquiao. And he said it was a lose/lose situation for him. He said either people are going to say you're Mayweather your suppose to beat him. Or if you outbox him, they are going to say you didn't put on a show and are running. Funniest hing is l predicted this once the fight was finally officially announced. He fought Pacquiao the exact same way he fought Maidana, Canelo, Cotto, Mosley, Marquez... The list goes on. Man is great at promoting and creating hype. I think most of the world is simply pissed they bought into it. If you are even a casual boxing fan. You must of seen one or 2 of his fights. If you are a true boxing fan, and went in thinking he'd change up his game then I feel sorry for you. He might of had to change up the game had pacquiao pressed him and forced him to do so. I saw pax win 3 rounds on my card. And I always score these fights at a levels playing field... 3 rounds I'm yelling at the tv for May to get out of the corner etc. because all it takes is to let your guard down once and things can turn around. They dub these fights with big titles to make sales. The fight of the century? Canelo was posterized as "the one" to beat Floyd... We saw how that happened. Floyd actually was really respectful this time around and didn't cause drama to hype the fight. Remember pacquiao is the one that filmed at least 3 commercials taking jabs at Floyd about the fight. Instead of filming commercials he should of been in the gym. Just my thoughts... And I'm a pacquiao fan. I have Nike gear and had a beat pair of his training shoes... But when you put them up against each other. You can't beat Floyd. Yes it might not be entertaining to much... Same as a football game that's in the 4th quarter and the score is 0-0 or 3-3. You want to see offense... Defense doesn't get the credit it should. I see a master in the ring at defense when Floyd steps in.

End of my rant hehe. I made some decent $ on this fight thanks to everyone backing the wrong side :)

Post Re: Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao
I know all too well how incredibly boring mayweather is, that is why I chose to skip the fight all together. I took my wife out to Tokyo that day.

As far as predicting how the fans would view him, that was easy. He is a boring fighter and gets shit for it each and every time. He can win, but if you know the guy is boring I don't see how you can be a fan. I respect his record, but not him as a fighter and barely as a boxer (if at all).

Yeah Mayweather "boxes" like a basketball player in the pre-shot clock era who would dribble in circles for 20 minutes. People use to say that was playing smart too until they saved the game and changed the rules.

its why boxing is dead. a coward like mayweather should not be undefeated, he's successfully gained the system and took the sport down with him. Just heard a joke today- only mayweathers girlfriends get a rematch- ouch

I'm fans of both boxers. Mayweather's defense is boss. Pacquiao's offense is boss. He couldn't best Mayweather this time. Take a boxer like Pacquiao, and try to stay out of range, but just enough to keep him swinging while landing enough to win rounds. That's impressive. But yeah, Mayweather isn't an exciting boxer... can't argue there.

The drama over this fight does not want to end. In addition to all the various lawsuits being filed (e.g. for disclosure, gurantees, broadcasting, etc.), the WBO has now stripped Mayweather of his title, because he did not give up the junior middleweight belt he was also holding concurrently. A technicality perhaps, but seems pretty silly to not just comply with the rules once informed.

He didn't want to pay $200,000.00 to have the title sanctioned. Which I guess makes sense? why drop 200K to sanction it, if you have 1 more fight and will give them up after. while he did make 220 mill on this fight, 220k still is 220k. they can strip him of the belt, but not the fact that he won it.
