Anyone read Japanese? I'd be interested to know what is written on the front and back.

Front says "Maiko" (apprentice geisha) and back says "Solar Maiko-chan".

That's a nice score even for you! I love all the Imperielesque monsters, wish I could find more hunting trash here in the states.

'Bully' by Bendy.

Image

This is the mascot of the long running UK TV game-show 'Bullseye'. Unusually for Bendy, they have fitted a voice box into the foam rubber.
Squeeze his belly and he either goes 'Moo' or it plays the theme song to the show. Its very quiet, so i assume the batteries need changing
or the mechanism is a bit knackered . . . .

Bendy toys usually don't age well. The foam rubber often splits or disintegrates completely. This one is in great shape.

Post Re: garage sales
It is actually not from the cartoon, but from a series of figures that came out after the film. They used 'creative license' on their designs, but actually came up with some completely kooky and excellent characters. I loved the line, and in fact, that is one figure that I still need(ed). The toys were designed excellently, albeit with the 90s flair, had awesome accessories, and almost all had some great action function (e.g. tentacles from the head). I still love them. My own small beef with the line was that is was so Beeteljuice-centric. I know, this sounds like an odd gripe in a Beetlejuice line, but it was all the other amazing character I wanted to see made too, I already have a shelf full of Beetleji. :) Such a shame this line was cut short, but looking at it now I am surprised they managed to get it made at all. It is certainly far from what I would call kid-friendly. Ah, the 90s, when you could still get away with great toys, all in the name of 'grossness.' Kids could do with a dose of non-sugary, non-Disneyed, non-educational toys. You know, fun stuff.

Cool, thanks for the insight . . . they should of followed 'The Real Ghostbusters' example and released multitudes
of weird beasties to compliment Beetlejuice.

Speaking of 'grossness' this figure reminds me of the 'Toxic Crusaders' toy-line. It has the day-glo style paint
and a very similar feel to the way the toy is made.

Anyone tried to sell their toys through a garage sale? Will try that next weekend and am curious as to the reactions.

Well, if you price them what sofubi collectors are used to paying, I am sure you will get a lot of raised eyebrows from all but those familiar with the medium. Even if you asked $10 for a $35 retail mini, I'm sure people would be thinking, "$10 for a little plastic toy that doesn't do anything?" I've seen all sorts of crap overpriced at yard sales in the name of being, "collectible" however, so who knows.

Yeah, I have sold plenty of toy at yard sales, a lot of which I probably regret now, but I wouldn't realistically expect to receive more than a quarter or 50cents for most, so for 'sofubi' and such, I hardly think it is worth what you would hope to get out of it. You might be able to wranlge more for old Lego, but even that would never fetch decent monetary/market value. I love yard sales, both going to them and having them, but really it is all just about passing on stuff to folks that want it, which otherwise might go nowhere or clearing out old stuff/making room in your place. It isn't a money generator, that is for sure. But still a lot of fun. I'd love to stop by your yard sale Oli, even just to share the experience and a coffee.

Its weird, i never see yard sales here in the UK. People just pay to set up a stall with a bunch of other people
in the middle of a field somewhere . . . . its where folding wall-paper pasting tables have a second life.

Boot sale Finger Frights . . . a bit more posh than the usual ones.
I think they are made by 'Accoutrements'.
£1 for the five.

Yeah, they certainly add something extra to a classic toy line. Modernised them a bit.
I found these pics on the Accoutrements website . . . .

Yeah I'm not expecting to male a killing, but I advertised the sale as "different". I'll be selling sofubi, Japanese music magazines, skateboards... And random kid stuff. What I hate most about garage sales are the pros who come in early to buy everything and flip on eBay. I've let a few persons who contacted me by email know that my prices won't be -that- good. :)

I'll try and take pictures - though the designer toys will draw righteous anger...

Found a bag of these at a boot-sale for very little money . . . . unfortunately there were
only three figures that were anywhere near complete. I now have a pile of random legs,
arms, torso's and heads . . .

Here's two of 'em. 'Zaku' style Gundam.
They are around 4" high and really well made.

Does anyone know the manufacturer? I'm guessing Bandai.

Ha! I bought one of those bags as well, a couple of years ago. All I came up with were two cool mash-ups, and yeah, lots of parts... I'm guessing Bandai on these too. These action figures were really popular here in the US in the 90s; I still have a bunch.

^^ Yeah, they are great. I thought all the parts would be interchangeable but it looks like each
Gundam in the series is a different size regardless of how similar in scale they look . . .

The quality of the parts and the way they click together are really good.
