 Mr. Robot
Nobody else is stuck on this? cant believe only 2 more episodes for season 1... but at least that means those that havent got in on this can catch up fast... you can watch the first 8 on USANETWORK.COM as long as you have a cable/dish provider... thoughts on the show? Tyrell reminds me of a Christian Bale ala American Psycho.

 Re: Mr. Robot
My favorite. Sometimes it's a bit painful but one of the most deeply honest things I've watched. Elliott is the old me but it reminds me those feelings are still inside. The loneliness. The disconnect. The addiction (replace junk with toys or love or god or any other).
Surprised it's network especially with him doing lines. Glad it's only 10 shows instead of several seasons where half end up being disappointing fillers.

 Re: Mr. Robot
I learned about this show from the patients at the psychiatric hospital where I work. Now that I'm all caught up, that seems strangely significant. Delusion, isolation, paranoia, addiction, antisocial personalities, hallucination, destructive ideation, conspiracy theory...
Really love the use of music (and references to music) on the show. That piano version of "Where is My Mind?" was just one brilliant example.

 Re: Mr. Robot
I watched the first episode and liked it minus the exchange over the guy running LINUX (that ruined it for me)....so lame and trying to hard to be legit.

 Re: Mr. Robot
My co-worker has a theory about that Linux conversation and thinks it was foreshadowing a later twist. I could see him being right, but I kind of hope he isn't.
I've really enjoyed this show, even all the stuff that a lot of people are griping about. Homage or ripoff, I feel like the story still has plenty of original, interesting aspects to it and the main actors are all so good, I'm just enjoying the ride.
I just saw that USA postponed tonight's season finale out of respect to the victims' family of the news team that got shot to death in VA because the episode has a "scene of gun violence" that is "similar" to that shooting.

 Re: Mr. Robot
I have to go back over it but I think I remember an ode to black flag (or punk in general by using an iconic image) moment when Elliott punches a bathroom mirror.

It's like a great book where you can't wait to get to the end while hoping that it never ends.

 Re: Mr. Robot
Rad finale. The post credits scene had me all worried that there were scenes after the credits for all the past episodes.

I hope it was season 2 knocking. They certainly left enough threads open to keep the story going.

Per Wiki: "The early premiere of the pilot on May 27, 2015 on multiple online and VOD services was so well received that the series was renewed for a second season, even before the first airing on USA Network on June 24, 2015." http://variety.com/2015/tv/news/mr-robo ... 201527483/Finally got around to watching 2 days ago and finished last night. I haven't been that hooked by a tv show in a very long time... seriously could not put it down. Nothing but praise for Mr. Robot. Hard to believe this is a USA show (you'd have to hold a gun to my head to watch any of their other programming), it's definitely HBO caliber. A not-so-subtle homage to Fight Club, American Psycho, and V for Vendetta yet still original and very well written. Even made a Christian Slater fan out of me. Trying to spread the word to my friends who haven't watched yet.

I'm nervous that season 2 will pull a True Detective, but I'm glad that there are enough open points that at the very least the first half should be solid.

I agree on all of the points made above. I was like Tyrell is soooo Bale/Patrick Bateman American Psycho

 Re: Mr. Robot
Yeah, I also just assumed it was tyrell but who really knows. The after credit scene was real interesting and I think it kind of opens the gates to what season 2 might bring.

 Re: Mr. Robot
I'm kind of bummed there will be a second season. These 10 episodes seemed so perfect and complete. I liked things left hanging because it felt like the writers expected their audience to be intelligent and to be able to formulate their own ideas. I also liked the very end showing someone at the top willing to take it all down just to see everyone burn (they would have a diverse portfolio and wouldn't be to hurt by one single giant credit union being taken down) and also by showing that everyone (unless they are a little bit crazy) can be bought despite their moral convictions (Angela).
Again, if you have not seen Utopia and you loved this then get on it. And vice versa.
