Post Re: Vintage Mail Day
So much goodness popping up on this page guys! I am glad to see that there is still a little activity going on in the vintage area (and hopefully we see a bit more, with those recent ebay auctions).

Jonathan, what a haul!! I don't even know where to begin with that mountain of amazing. The giant Tigermasks - of course spectacular and hard to come by in such wonderful shape - really, really nice. Poly KR, Bullmark minis, all great. I have been wanting to get one of those KZ Gaboras for a long time too, he is just so chunky and hunchbacked, I love everything about the figure. Very nice find! And, I offer major congratulations on finally landing the Miura bootleg 'Ghidorah.' I have always adored it, and know you have a great liking for him too, so I am happy you found one. Yours has such nice paint, really strong black accents, lovely gold, and looks like he might have stepped right off a 70s toy shelf. Fantastic!

Myles, equally nice finds you got there. Kittyfire grew on me too, and I still have yet to track down any vintage versions of the character. He looks really nice, and I wouldn't even hesitate over the small condition flaws you mentioned; loved is lovable. The original Twintail is great and underrated. They can be found for real bargains for any hunter, I think it must have been one character that Bullmark just did a whole lot of - something I have always wondered about (i.e. relative production numbers for characters) - because every toy shop in Japan seems to have one or a couple at any given moment, and the prices for a vintage figure are so affordable. I myself picked up a bargain beat-up fella, but yours looks really good. He is a great starting point for anyone getting into vintage Bullmarks.

Thanks! Pretty happy to have them, among others. Here are a couple other new additions:

A few blue minis:

And Saigo. I was wanting this guy for a long time. Finally pulled the trigger. His hands are flat, so I assume he was meant to also assume that last pose.

Thanks steve/michael/myles for the comments. Ill have to post some more photos in their respective threads. The vintage section has been pretty dead lately.

Myles- you should do a group shot of all your new vinyl scores, some great stuff. I especially like that amazon and gudon mini.

Too funny.

Yeah, Jonathan. I can try to do that. I need to find the time to sort through it all, since I got a few pieces at one time. Also, I wanted to present a few at a time to keep things going, but a group shot could be done followed by individual features. But since you already mentioned Amazon Rider, I guess I can throw that one up now. This is one of my long-time vinyl wants (definitely was top 10 for me and instantly became one of my favorite vinyl pieces I now own). Glad to finally add it to my collection, and with the scarf! The amount of care it must have taken to paint these... Unlike probably any other vintage piece out there.

Thanks, guys. Weekends are slow, so I might as well add another. This is another that I was after for years. I already own a brown Bullmark version, but I really wanted this blue Marusan one.

Superb post! The spray down the Marusan's back just sends me.

I'm envious, yes, but mostly I'm just happy to see these three hanging out:

Thanks! Damn happy to have them finally (the Gabora is a new pickup too - swaps out the reissue on my shelf). I only wish I could take better photos. ;)

These are all so great, excellent shares everyone. Myles, thanks especially for posting the trio of 'connected' characters together. So nice to see them in a grouping, as well as the comparison shots of the different versions. Congrats on the new Nerongs, a stunner. But I really love your Marusan Pagos particularly, the rub/wear on the blue, mixed with the brown, is just exactly what I like. A perfect figure. Ah, vintage hunting, such a rewarding part of the hobby for those willing to dedicate themselves.

Sorry - he's a keeper. I dig my moderns too. But if I decide to let him go... ;)

I'll throw 2 up today (yes, these are all new pickups - not just cycling through my collection. Though maybe we should have a thread for that too - just tons of shots of each individual figure.)

Marusan Dodongo. This guy arrived absolutely disgusting. Probably why I got him for such a good price (and the marker on one foot). But after cleaning, he looks great. I even brushed his teeth! A few dark spots still, but the colors are vibrant.

And now its robot time. Been wanting to post this on FB, but wanted to get it up here first. Tetsujin 28 by Bullmark. Some writing on the back of one leg, unfortunately. But fine by me.

Here's the two Bullmark classic robots together with their minis. (Am I missing any classic Bullmark bots other than Astroganger? But never had an interest in that bot.)

Congrats Kingboy D great scores :!:
Especially the Bullmark Tetsujin, just love it. The writing on the back also does not affect me, even more if you take it for a decent price.

Best regards!

Well, there's always this thread: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=29351&start=200

I think your excellent, image-intensive posts would go great in this aborted space that Steve started up a ways back, too.*

We expect no more but no less than one visual essay a day from you, Kingy!

*Sorry, Sanjeev.

I love the simplicity of that Bullmark T-28 sculpt, as well as the size. I like that he would stand out above other toys (how tall is he by the way?). Geez I miss toy hunting so much, that guy has been on my radar for awhile. I keep telling myself one more year! Really nice pickups Kingboy, you're on a tear!

Strangely, so often with those large T-28s, you see oddly mismatched (one being linger than the other) legs. It inevitably seems to be his right, so I take it something went wrong with the original mold. And, funnily enough, it matches his off-kilter expression! :) Yours is actually barely noticeable, one of the mort straight standing versions I have seen. Congrats on the amazing robot family!

About 12". I'll have to measure when I get home. Yeah, these usually have trouble standing. Mine too - he is lightly resting on Giant Robo. Although this shot was taken on my bed, so it was not even.

Marusan, Bullmark, and giant-sized B-Club reissue of Garuban. All three are new.
