If you ever get the US version of the Office on DVD, you MUST get past the first episode... you'll hate the first episode. Guaranteed.
It's basically just an awkward remake of the first episode of the British version with the US cast. After episode one, things start branching off differently from the British version and once they started doing that, it became it's own show.
It still follows a loose skeleton of the British plotline, but it's a much more leisurely pace, and they gave much more life to the side characters.

I'm agreeing with you on the injection.
It might sound like a bad concept, but the action is, as someone said, pretty much nonstop.
I've never watched this much tv in mylife, but vegging on the couch has become my new favorite pastime

Anybody ever catch "Green Wing" on BBCA? I don't know if I've laughed more during a TV show. Apparently, a second season aired in the UK, but not on this side of the pond.

Lost
Smallville
24
Battlestar Galactica

I went through a period of years (many of them) where I didn't watch any TV (other than TCM) but now that I've got a job with sensible hours and band rehearsal we've actually been tuning in to a few things: My Name Is Earl, Veronica Mars (even though this new season is pretty much sucking) and Project Runway (when it's on).
A lot of stuff, though, we'll just watch on DVD, either because we missed it when it was around (Arrested Development, Rescue Me, Curb Your Enthusiasm) or because it never aired here (Black Books, Spaced, The (UK) Office).
As far as the Office goes, I think the British series is seriously one of the most perfect TV shows ever - a mix of black humor, pathos, and poignancy - but every time I try to watch the US version it just bums me out.

You can get three seasons, I think, of Little Briton on DVD. I dig LB, crazy funny! I really like Dexter, pretty damn good show!

They (guys from Little Britain) actually just did a live tour around the UK. I would have loved to have seen that.

Oooooooooook, so people on Skullbrain do watch TV?
My picks are:
Little Britain - Vicky Pollard Rules
Footballers Wives - Total trash
Mile High (The one about Fresh airlines that just finished) - even trashier
Catherine Tate - the female Little Britain
Dr Who - classic charcaters in fab new stories, with nice homegrown effects, and great doctors/sidekicks.
Prison Break - altho I wish something would happen
The Office - UK reruns and US new ones
24 - when its on
The Street - mini series on BBC - constantly depressing but amazing vignettes on life in a Northern Street
Law and Order
Thats about it, BBC America is probably where its at for me.

I forgot about this one. I've rented the first 2 seasons of Veronica Mars. It's a pretty entertaining show. Hopefully the 3rd season improves. I've heard people on another forum complaining, too.

Enterainment Weekly has always been a huge supporter of this show, and they are disgusted with the new season.
i don't watch, but it sounds pretty depressing. hard to see your fave show go from fab to flab.

Oh well. You have to invest so much time into TV shows that I'm kind of relieved when I hear that one is sucking. I didn't bother with the last few seasons of X-Files, for instance. No Mulder? No dice.

I love the US Office. Dwight Schrute is the best sitcom antagonist since Frank Burns.
The other show i don't miss is Monk. Tony Shalhoub is an amazing actor. I don't know how, but even with what you'd think would be a one trick pony concept, they keep it fresh even after five seasons.
New tv is just fine, but old tv is where it's at.
Columbo, MASH, Northern Exposure, Twin Peaks, Newhart, WKRP in Cincinatti, Three's Company, Gilligan's Island, Star Trek, Hanna Barbera cartoons that only lasted a season.
