I didn't encounter the man's work until '91, having managed to skip out out the Die Hard phenomenon, but that first taste made me a fan for life: anyone here seen Closet Land? Such a disquieting and peculiar film. No sense in spoiling it here, just plug it in to your retrospectives this weekend.

Re: RIP Alan Rickman I'll admit some mixed emotions about the corporeal departure of Frey, having wished all manner of ills upon the Eagles over the years, but I suppose sympathies for those that loved him win out here. Can't say I feel too guilty about that old Elvis Hitler tune running through my head when I heard the news, though.
Bummed about Blowfly; what an interesting and genuinely hilarious guy he was.
S'funny, I was just talking about Angus Scrimm a few days before he passed. The pending re-Phantasming of the world will seem that much more hollow without him around.

Do yourself a favor and watch Bowie's ten-minute long "Blackstar" video. It's like a creepy mini-movie.
