{asterisk all}

Just seeing this post now, so apologies for going back in the thread a bit, but if you were interested Myles, that fella has sort of interesting story behind him, if I understand it correctly. The character was meant to appear in an unreleased episode/story of Ultraseven. Towards the end of the show, I gather there were some issues arising due to cost constraints combined with some other production issues. I believe his name is something akin to Space Beast God Goat, and was a surviving member of the 'monster corp', of which the episode was supposed to be focused (it was, I gather, a mass battle, and was called "15 Aliens + 35 Monsters", 『宇宙人15+怪獣35』, visible in a script draft). The episode was written by Shozo Uehara and directed by Akio Jissoji. Perhaps even more fascinating was the the 'creature' may have been designed by Noriyoshi Ikeya, well known for his work on the films of Seijin Suzuki. Anyhow, it sort of disappeared from knowledge, until 2007 where it was resurrected in a feature article in Figure King (# 118).

He was also featured in some corresponding manga artwork for Ultraseven:

Anyways, getting back to the actual toy aspect that is relevant, so at the same time, Billiken released a 'realistic' version vinyl kit of the figure to coincide with the article, and Marusan also did one subsequently, though a slightly different version than what you have, and which was a limited edition to the Figure King magazine.

Billiken (kit and painted):

Marusan:

The more you know, right? Okay, nerd rant over. :)

* Disclaimer: I cannot say that I read (or interpreted) the information 100% correctly, nor could I ever claim to have thoroughly exhausted all sources in my research. I would welcome input from anyone else who knows more about the character, or the lost episode, or just with better translation skills.

If you're talking about standard size Zagorans they are fairly common to find - both here in the For Sale section and on places like eBay. I'm pretty sure I saw a coloured/mixed parts version (if that's what you mean) in our For Sale section recently.. not sure who was selling it or if it has sold though.

Dang Jason, what a haul of fantastic toys. The only thing I can fault you there, well, if I really had to, would be your image sizes! :P Honestly, what a grouping of great vinyl. Not that any of us ever doubted your taste, but you always seem to outdo even yourself. And, of course, wonderful pics. I love a guy who just loves toys. Forget all that other nonsense. There, I said it. I love you man. Deal with it. :)

Also, not to be that guy, but in case anyone reading this does not yet know, I am obligated to point out:

Makes an already fantastic toy, something really, really special.

Nice set! That's my skullbot of choice too. I'm not sure that you've noticed since I don't post many pics, but you and I tend to like the same color palettes.

Who's the grandpa cave zombie? I'm fond of his coloring as well. Gid?

Huh, and now I know. Thanks for being that guy, Steve ;). I had no idea and I'm always down for some interesting toy trivia.

Chungaloid by Joseph Harmon. It's a great sculpt. A few versions were released through TAG last year.
