So, umm ... what the heck?
So this little guy was included in one of my YJA boxes with all of my recent auction goodies. It was a freebie (I didn't order it) so I have no idea where it came from. If I know my katakana (and I don't) I think it's by Nostalgic Heroes. Anyone know any more about it? I would say it's kind of offensive, except he's so cute.

The text reads "Nostalgic Heroes"... and yeah, the Japanese aren't exactly the most politically correct people when it comes to people of African descent...

LOL That's sweet! Hilarious and cute and, to some, offensive. Seriously awesome I'd love a freebie that silly.

His little bag contains a bearbrick-like bear that says 'not for sale'.

Matt Alt tells me it's the Nostalgic Heroes mascot. Apparently they're nostalgic for a time when certain people had to use separate water fountains.

Kind of reminds me of that scene in Ghost World where the Buscemi character shows the evolution of the Cook's Chicken logo.
That's not a positive comment, by the way (just to make myself clear).

I don't think it's offensive at all. I can see how someone would I guess, but I don't think this is the place for that debate.

I'm surprised by it, I'm not really offended by it, but I'm not black. I also hear that the guy who runs Nostalgic Heroes is somewhat eccentric, and I'd like to learn more about where the character came from.

Hopefully my Celga box has some free goodie!!!
Speaking of my Celga Box...I hate the USPS!!!!!
I have everything shipped to my office, because I'm never home and this is the only way to get all my stuff without a huge hassle. Well, Celga notifies me on Dec. 20th that they are shipping my stuff. I forget to download the invoice and the email disappeard after a few days due to a large number in incoming emails so I never got the EMS tracking number. Friday I realize that, "Hey, I never got my Celga Box!!!" So I contact Celga and they send me the tracking number. Well it ends up that the damned Post Office tried to deliver to a closed business building on Christmas day!!! They never left any notice. So my box of glowey goodness has been sitting at the post office for over a week now! and to make it worse (of course I'm being extremely selfish right now) but in observance of the passing of Gerald Ford the Post Office is closed until Wednesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGGHHHHHH
Sorry for hijacking your post and thanks for letting me get that off my chest!!! Gotta love free therapy

There's no such thing as "just" a Curry Chef! Curry Chefs rule, now somebody get me one.
