 Star Wars TV Series...
http://www.geekmonthly.com/news/2007/01 ... ore-adult/
At yesterday’s Rose Parade, George Lucas talked a bit about plans for the upcoming live-action Star Wars TV show planned for 2009. SFGate is reporting that Lucas draws a distinction between the Star Wars TV show and other recent sci-fi shows like Battlestar Galactica and Firefly. From the article:
“Ours will be very different,” he said. “It’s very Star Wars, but it doesn’t involve the Skywalkers.” The characters come from the same universe, Lucas added, but the stories are, “a little bit more adult.” Hopefully, he added, “it will be something most people have never seen on television before.”
Reports indicate that Lucas plans on committing to 100 episodes for the series, which will take place between Episodes III and IV of the Star Wars saga. There is still no word on if it will be broadcast or just distributed over the Internet. In addition to the live-action Star Wars, there is also a follow-up to the animated ‘Star Wars: Clone Wars’ planned for 2008.

I hope Darth Vader is a major character in the series. I want to see him kick some ass.

100 episodes=100 more nails in the coffin.

I hope we get some young Lando action woooo! I gotta feeling it's gonna be very war themed if it's "adult themed" seeing that it'd be the start of the rebellion and all.

I don't see how that could work. If it takes place between Episodes III and IV, wouldn't the Empire be public enemy #1? And as we all know, the leaders of the Empire are Darth Sidious and his apprentice Darth Vader, so one would assume they would be the primary antagonists.

Yeah but "The Empire" could be the villain without bringing in Vader. It's a huge system, look at all the Governors, like Tarkin, What if it was his rise to power! I mean the Empire can be the villain as a whole too without Vader, he could be mentioned, and will be n doubt, but still he doesn't need to be IN it.

It's space opera... lots of planets. Lots of people... Try to have an open mind.

It was rumored earlier that this show was going to be "Young Luke Skywalker," and I'm really glad they're not taking that tack.
"Young Boba Fett," on the other hand, could be really cool.

Vader will be hunting down the last jedis and over looking the construction of the death star., and little has been said if any jedi characters will be main characters. I would expect to have at least one season wnd with a vader or other named character harassing the new bloods
