Post Toy or statue
I was reading the KR board (yes despite Huck's best efforts I can still read the board from home) and they were discussing the best toy of the year. The thing that really surprised me were how many toys that made the best toy list that had no articulation at all.

My question is can a vinyl figure without articulation be considered a toy?

I would have to say still a toy. There are a few toys we collect on here that have no articulation - Charactics Mini Walders and Invaders. Some only at the waist, which is basically the same as no articulation for mine.

Not by me . . . those pieces cross the art/toy divide.

The funny thing is I brought up the subject about irradiated food to some fiends in the produce biz, they would love to do it, but the American public still so uninformed it's scary. I guess they'd rather live with E.coli outbreaks. . . By the way the peeps I talked to are in Salinas, the epicenter of the last outbreak.

I got banned from the KR board for pointing out the " I am Plastic" book was riddled with errors regarding Secret Base and making fun of his friend Sket's artwork when he was at my house one night. Apparently he is very sensitive.

I don't think of mine as toys I think of them as vinyl figures or statues
That's not because they are not articulated, it's because I don't play with them.

I don't think it has anything to do with articulation. It's more about the intent of the object; if it was created to be played with or just displayed.

Good call Cesar!

I still live in hope, He was promising us oil paintings on each board to make-up for the long wait, but last time I asked, all Frank said was he had no idea when he'd get to them. It's 2007 and we paid for these in September 2005 or something.....ya think I should be concerned?

I like that new kaiju he's done - maybe he can flow me a couple of freebies, especially the KT colorway (hint hint)?

ha ha, you got nothing on me. Frank owes me four custom labbits: gid, camo, humbug, clockwork orange and a large one off custom project. I think I have sent him something like $1500 in total over a year ago. I hope I like the customs when they show up.

mmmm, I'd call that rather worrying...plus with that backlog, sounds like he'll never get to the decks. It would be nice if he did commissions in order tho, starting with the oldest outstanding one first....hint hint.....
