Some one told me that the rights to the Blythe doll have been bought by a new Japanese company and that they had no plans to sell them over seas.

Is this right?

My GF started collecting them recently and maybe a little too late.

Hasbro has the rights, and these are licensed to a company in Japan called CWC with production by TakaraTomy. I believe they have the license to sell in Asia, but not in the US. Although Hasbro has let them do a few releases a year in the US.

Here's a link about this particular doll:
http://www.blythedoll.com/eng/special/l ... /doll.html

There have been even pricier ones that retailed at $500 even before reaching the secondary market, like the Nike Blythe and the Mod Art Attack girls.

from what i've read on This is Blythe forums, there have been rumblings that dolls will no longer be made available for North American retailers. Currently stores like Rotofugi, ToyTokyo, Magic Pony and RobotLove do carry them.

honestly, as an american its no big deal. (I've heard more Canadians grumbling about it, over postal taxes and such) The dolls are almost always cheaper to get from ebay sellers in japan or HK and purchasing from people on message boards is often even cheaper ... US retailers are usually significantly overpriced, even compared to the aftermarket (with the possible exception of FAO Shwartz)

ToyTokyo's prices on B's are RIDICULOUS. i just saw a doll on there i could get for $100 less (or more) off of ebay or blythe forums.

I'll let the expert (missy) chime in on this because she knows much more than I do, but I've seen some of the newer ones (Takara) go as high as $500-600.

original Hasbros almost always sell for over $1000

ew. take it back.

yeah, that doll Last Kiss is limited edition. The price is kinda high though. Darling Diva is the 5th anniversary doll, and they anniversarys are always expensive. I want them all, but for now, just have to dream. They usually come with more accessories and outfits than you can shake a stick at, and have neat customizations done (special eye colors, special pull rings etc)

http://www.blythedoll.com/eng/special/dd/doll.html

Most retail at $500 USD new...Toy Tokyo seems to be taking a nice profit on top, but they are hard to come by, and usually close to that price new. My most expensive one is this:
http://www.blythedoll.com/eng/news/dolls/051125.html

but she was (only) $300 retail at release....

hey this is jess: we just happened upon the brats cartoon this morning, and it's all around sickening thats for sure, but the name of one of the bratz struck me as a little offensive...

why is the only black brat called "bunny-boo" and why has no one seemed offended yet.
