That is crazy cheap for that. I'm sure it is just a beginners piece, but I'm thinking I could make CRAZY frames for art on that thing!!!

Just saw a tv commercial for that carving machine. The results looked pretty good. They were gearing the ad more to cabinet makers. Also, (tool wise) Sears doesn't put the Craftsman name on anything unless the quality is there.

John, have you seen this thing in action yet?
If it can do what the commercial said, custom carved door panels would be a snap to make.

I think it looks killer but Sears tools are customarily garbage for real..But for 1900 dollars they may have put a little extra into this..I wonder if it's a CAD type software they use?I'm very interested in seeing it in action-Personally if it works i'd drop that much on it..I was making a little joke before about Sears and their commercials..

If one become available, I know for a fact my boss would drop $1,900 for that machine because of the stuff we build. I'll let you know how it works out.

The Craftsman tool is a re-branded version of this product:
http://carveright.com/
Paul, the software that drives it doesn't take CAD or standard G-code yet, but it sounds like they're going to upgrade the software to do so in the near future. Once they do that, this could be a really kick-ass tool.

You could probably do some ghetto figures by doing like 3 or 4 boards, running each and then gluing them together.
