I'll be in Houston Texas for a couple weeks this month. Any cool toy stores in the area? Anything else I should check out while I am there?

Hey Chris. There are a few toy stores I frequent at least twice a week here in Southwest Houston. One is called Third Planet on the Southwest freeway near the 610 loop. They have a little bit of everything. A little further down going towards downtown is Nans comics and games on the other side of the southwest frwy (59) and is a little more hidden away. Another good one that has become a chain here in H-town is Bedrock City. The one I frequent the most is on Westheimer on the corner of Hillcroft.
Have fun in Houston!
Patrick

Domy Books on Westheimer, I went there in Oct when they were barely opening up. A guy named Russell run it. They got a loads of mags, art books and graphic novels type stuff. They also carry toys like [expletive deleted], some Super7 toys, plush, kidrobot toys...

http://www.domystore.com/

Its pretty close to Sound Exchange, which has not really been a good record/cd store since the 90s but you never know what you will find if your a vinyl collector or looking for obscure noise or metal cds.
Vinyl Edge is good music shop, but its pretty far up north.

Domy has a great selection of Art books and mags. Most of the toys they
carry are western.

The only store I've made it to so far has been Domy. They have lots of nice books and I bought some Be@rbricks for a friend who recently started collecting them. I'm hoping to check out those other stores next weekend. Thanks again everyone for the info.

Chris, go by Atomic City.

There is another store in Austin that came by the S7 booth. I will try to remember the name of the store and post it here later.

For vinyl toys see Gomi and Monkey See Monkey Do they are really just mostly Western Vinyl... Domy is better in my opinion.

Make sure you go by Waterloo records, they got everything as for music and if they don't go two blocks north there is Cheapo which is about 90% used CD.
If you like comics or grahpic novels, Austin Books is the best around.

Do go by Atomic City, lots of Bandai toys from all sorts of series as well as a busload of other cool stuff, if the owner Prince is there ask to see his Godzilla tattoos...

Beef Ribs all the way!

Cooper's is the state's best in the hill country north of Fredricksburg!

You tell how much you want and they cut it and you pay by the pound.

The only vinyl they know is in record form for shootin.

I didn't look for toys, records or BBQ while in Austin. I still had a pretty good time though.
