Seems like you're asking for peeps to support you doing the "wrong" thing, coz making the right decision is easy. The bidding company I use is always friendly and helpful and probably a fairly small company, $500 makes a difference.

Although it's hard to say for sure, I'd probably tell them, because like loco was saying... $500 is a lot of money. I wouldn't want to lose it.

Just tell them.

In the end they will probably not forget what you did for them. And your conscience will be clear.

I was in a similar situation, and for being honest, was not only thanked, but given free shipping on my next order.

anyways.... i did contact them about it (I don't think they would have caught it because I already have the items in hand. I'm assuming they recently made changes there, try looking up some of your old online celga invoices) and I just got my fat bill today & now i'm thinking "what the hell did I just do?"... oh well, nice to know i'm not the only one who would do it. They did give me $10 off my bill (although i was hoping for more... am i wrong to think that?)

jeff,

you did the right thing and They acknowledged it with a little discount. should it have been more? I don't think so...it was a simple clerical error. they would have eventually tracked it down...$500 is a lot of money for a small business to be missing. that's what the accounts receivable dept is for :D

anyways, good job....

You did the right thing telling them.

Imagine if you hadn't and they chase you afterwards, yuck.
