Sho' yo' Butas for Lixx

@gazpacho - Well done, Z, they all look like a pile of fun to have around.

 

Any idea if the "belts" are from some Toho source material? I initially thought they were meant to be like the tanks; to serve as a base for the heads and torsos.

The other one has "BH" on it, right? Like Buta (no) Hana...

Full disclosure, I’m not totally sure the extra pieces are belts or bases for the heads, but belts make the most sense given dimensions of the joints. I also don’t really think the belt says “BH”. It more reads just as an organic belt design.

p.s. For you Chris, I will unbag my Butas when I get them out on the shelf (it might take me longer to spiritually overcome the obstacle to unbag the yellow Zarab )

Dino quadrille, way back in 2009, when I was just starting to collect Buta. I'd just lost out on a vintage auction for a red magnet dino head Nakajima set (three interchangeable dino heads that had magnets at the base of the head, which fitted on a red body), because Tokyo Buyers forgot to place my bid. I was so upset, that I went on a spending therapy spree at S7 (the original Japan Town location), and snatched up all available buta dinos. I'm still kicking myself, that I raced out the door and saw a lime green Buta Baltan (now on my grail list), but my ex would not let me go back and adopt it, and said, "ok, next time you can buy it". Next time never came, but I am so glad I went on a Buta spending therapy spreeeeee

Is you referring to the painted up micro Hayata that was released with the blue Seabozu as a festival exclusive several years ago? At least I think it represents Hayata.

Tis a great set. On my mental list of wants.

 

Ha! It's still bagged right back atcha! That and the bagged cave peeps are going to be the only ones left in their coccoons for "awhile". I still have quite a bit more to organize. I am missing a whole box of og butas, including a blue trex, blue eryops, along with Gryphon and a few other choice ones , so frustrating! Esp. when that last Gryphon on jya just sold for 50000 JPY!

p.s. Michael, you are correct re. the painted mini Hayata. He's definitely a cutie, and that deep bluey blue Seabozu is really a humdinger of a beauty. You can barely make out an unpainted blue Hayata, next to the painted one. He came extra with the set.

 

Wow, Grace! So great to finally see your setup... those cases are a perfect match for the Butas as well.
