Not to point fingers at anyone... *cough*A-specific-moderator-trash-talking-in-the-Mishka-thread*cough* But yeah, I've seen some other crap going on in Japan Toys too. So strange, it's like people acting likes its the end of the world, turning into savages, burning witches, eating moonpies! All hell is breaking loose!
It seems like most of the vittrol is in this particular forum, some in the Japan toys forum, so I posted it here. There are a great many people who live up to the critique, so if it sounds like you, it might be meant for you. It's getting a little mob mentality out there...
I just click "active topics" when viewing so for me it was in the main list. "Vitriol" is such a great word when talking about venom and spite.
i am TOTALLY against pogue-ish behavior. but, i am ALL ABOUT negative comments. apparently, i need to chill out and not be a part of skullbrian. i can't be negative when i like toys? why? because certain comments are approved and some aren't. how should i know if my opinion is acceptable or not?! there are HUNDREDS of toys being produced in america. if someone came on here every day and posted something about the new Bratz figs, should i not tell them that i think those are stupid?! (i.e., or should i just accept (or contribute?!) to the endless threads options of hot wheels 2012 cars/tupperware stackable dinos/hasbro g.i. joe sigma 6/mattel Bratz figs/bwanas hippy shit/etc/etc/etc/etc/etc/etc/etc/etc/etc/etc/etc/etc/etc/etc/etc/etc/et/e....or do you want the endless Bratz threads? because, believe me, i can make them.... also, if a mod doesn't like what a member has to say, are you going to edit/delete it? before other members give an opinion to what is said? i'm all in audiodifficulties corner: With all the support and participation of the mods on here I'm surprised you can find any of the negative posts.
http://skullbrain.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=27992 this whole "elitist" eric dude posts negatively about power rangers, and this flynn dude gives it a "= bad" post. i fucking love power rangers. but, apparently, it can be ridiculed openly, while other ridiculing gets a "watch your step" feedback. bull. shit.
There are negative comments about toys, just being a dick and then there is getting in a pissing match. I'm pretty sure Brian was speaking about the later two. Maybe there is more to this than I know but honestly I try and filter out the bullshit. If toy collecting does not make someone happy and they are overwhelmed by what bothers them, then I feel bad for them. It is supposed to be fun and we can all like whatever the fuck we want. I don't think Brian is suggesting we start talking about urban vinyl over here. Yes once in a while it pops up but it is quickly talked down. Mods erasing bullshit is fine with me, people should handle their business rather than turning into two drunk nerds in a proverbial toy bar. If they are erasing criticism or thoughts then that sucks. None the less, how does one not grow tired of the geek tantrums and desire to get back to enjoying toys? I don't think Brian or I am trying to tell you to be a happy, shiny person but do you really enjoy reading through verbal slap fights in multiple threads?
Dude, slm... That thread is from 2009. A lot of stuff has changed since then. The most interesting thing I notice in that thread is that there is a whole lot of shit talking going on. And yet everyone is having a good time with it. No accusations of anyone thinking they are better than the rest, no seriousness behind the name calling, etc. ^^ Yeah. That's it.
Don't be this guy; http://youtu.be/DDYjljdje-g *Skinner posted this yesterday and made me think of this thread
The irony in this thread keeps coming. Let's not say negative things about toys but check out that sig line.
Wasn't inferring a negative about you, per se, as I have no idea what spawned that. Just saying wow, yeah, saying a toy that I think sucks sucks is just horrible. And there is so much suckage. At least we have the b i t c h filter.
I love when he starts throwing his arms around then says "Don't make me loshe my cool." Suffering Sucotash! I couldn't work out what the hell he was on about for the first half of the video. Is he Francis? Is the title him talking about himself in the first person? Matt is perplexed.
It's a "character" of his. It's him acting like Cartman, he calls it Francis… it's fake and not funny… am I allowed to say that?
Oh...he needs to rethink that whole thing because I thought he was just being himself. I knew heaps of guys like that growing up.
Me too. Dead on. I'm sad it's fake, but I've known people who've acted like that, or more exagerated, and it WASN'T an act. I was once shoved by a guy I knew in high-school for a Bossk toy. Dude was yelling and running down a Toys R Us aisle, "BOOOOSSSKK!" and slammed right into me for the thing! Luckily I was 300 lbs at the time (luck?) and he was like 90 lbs. That story and all has nothing to do with chilling out, sorry.
