Bitterpill you got my favorite Krawluss. I was surprised to see it sitting there as many lottery numbers were called. It is amazing.
Wristbands wouldn't help, I don't think. I know of several peeps that, instead of having multiple tickets, they have multiple people stand with them with one ticket each. Same thing with e-mail lotteries, where someone has several people enter for them. I was happy with winning the Sludge Demon I did, and being able to help a couple guys that couldnt make it out for the PK lottery. The Sludge Demon and a TAG exclusive Alavaka were my only pickups.
As always its great to see everyone from past events, catch up with our favorite toy makers, and meet a few new faces. 2 days of crazy lotteries but an overall mellow ambient. Saw lots of other goodies I would have loved to pick up if I had more funds but I'm happy with what I got. Here's my two main guys. Saturday Coco San Sunday Duke of Uranus
Yeah, they would have to stand there with 5-6 severed arms to strum through while Todd machine-gunned out numbers. Not good.
The only reason it lasted ( along with one of the other ones ) was the voluntary opt-out due to price. It is astounding to behold. I have perma-grin when i'm in its presence.
Definitely surprised it was still available when I got called, and yes the name is so great. Just when i thought there couldn't be more original shit jokes.
All you need to do is stand on a box and look over the crowd when you call the numbers out. The ones who have their heads down longer than usual are the ones scanning their 6 or 7 ticket numbers. I stood in the back and took pics of guys holding the "bacon strips"......pretty blatant.
Guys, just because I love wearing a Batman mask, and enjoy a casual anal probing - and often as not the both together - I don't see why I should be ostracized from the toy community. Plus my retinas don't work even when they are in my sockets.
Thank you! It was nice finally putting a face to the screen name! It was pleasure meeting you. I told Nate I met you when I squeezed myself back into the hoard. He said he got to speak to you on Sunday. ^____^ I forgot to add that having Cometdebris (Koji) at D-Con was awesome. He has not been at a toy event stateside since I last saw him at SDCC 2010. I had asked him if he was coming back next year and he said yes. I am very happy about that. Kappa/Tokoji/Sametan fans rejoice!
I don't even know where to begin with my thanks. To Paul, you are a master at well, everything. Working with you was a blast, we had so much fun the entire weekend you guys showed me so much love. The non stop laughs between our booth and Skinners, the shit talking and good times was at max levels for sure. The fans LOVE you and its so well deserved, I'm honored you lowered your standards to include me this year DCON is such an amazing event and I don't know if any other con can match this. The venue was beautiful, well air conditioned, clean and placed in a great area with amazing food and hotels. If your a toy collector this convention will definitely have something for you. Thanks to everyone who came out and joined in on the fun. It was great meeting so many new boardies Ive never met before and getting a few minutes to talk and joke around. Thats always a highlight for me for sure ! Thanks to all who stopped by our raffles and picked up something. There were no issues and I think everyone who wanted something got close to what they wanted. Melissa and Todd really are the brains behind the show and kept me and PK running like a well oiled machines. So a HUGE thank you is in order to them. If Paul will have me back and you all want to see me there again I would do it in a second. I LOVED this convention. East coasters take note, you NEED to plan for DCON, screw SDCC, DCON is the event of the year for sure !!
If next year is anywhere near as cool as this year looked I'm definitely coming out. Looks like everyone had fun. Plus, I don't think I can handle this feeling of missing out again next year.
SDCC- $175(?) ticket, $2-300 hotel room, and a million people.... Dcon- $10 ticket, affordable hotels, and room to breath as you walk down the aisles. Dcon has been my favorite for the past 4 years(which is when I started going). Back then I had only met Nate, Maddie, and Carl. Now I know so many people it is insane. I did like it better as a 1 day event, but I won't complain again because 2 days still worked really well.
Your D-Con pics on Instagram are great, too! Dago, do you remember I saw the kick-ass Sumo Granny picture? Ha! Thank you very much for scoring her!!! Granny Ana is SO grateful...
