Lol, "So your husband is on a trip to Japan? Is that his vintage collection over there? Yeah I agree collecting toys is pretty lame right? Hey I love your glasses they really bring out your beautiful eyes!"

I kid I kid....I'm definitely not that smooth (nor would I do that).

Thanks Robert. I deff know where mike I coming from and I'm glad you pointed out how I work my collection. I have only at 1 point in collecting kumon have had a double. And I made sure it got to someone who was looking for the sculpt. I can say I have delt with a lot of trades and people making them and have been offered a double they have for one of mine and I just won't take the trade. I also don't take kumon for sale or in any other means unless I know I'm after that version for my collection. I don't even go back and try to get versions I have traded for others because I want my collection, as a whole, to be with me for the long haul and if I traded it then I'll probably do it again and I don't think that's fair. ( so this is me speaking on the trade aspect and in my personal experience ) people who post doubles are probably fishing for trades. I think that's very safe to say and as I don't agree with double trading it's mainly because I know the people I see doing it are doing it just to one up their collection in an easy way. to each his/her own but again it just comes down to the transaction and how it's conducted.

I think this falls into the same category as all the other topics a few of us beat to death on here - common courtesy and consideration for others is a rare thing anymore. It's an every man, woman, and child for their selves mentality across the globe, but we are really seeing it here in the US and all of the other countries where fear has crippled what used to be the common good. It's to the point where people will call you a masochist for putting someone else's needs before yours, and actually get angry at you for having the audacity to feel that it's the right thing to do. I think it hits those few of us who do care about others pretty hard and leaves us feeling alienated. Toy karma is just not proving many returns lately and it's hard to be one of the few who do the right thing in our hearts when others scream about their right to do whatever and what's fair and square, etc. The whole "it's my right to be an asshole but don't you dare call me an asshole" attitude is so all too prevalent. If you dare to suggest people should have common courtesy then they call you pretentious and berate you for telling them how to live.
I'm still a newbie here but when I joined, there were still remnants of a thoughtful community in SB. It seems that too has faded. So much back alley trading and dealing, having to have everything you want no matter the cost, and forked tongues all around. When you've got someone who's been on SB since 2007 unloading their collection on ebay without a nod to those who probably helped forge said collection, there's not much hope for things improving. At first it seems odd that no one brings this up but then you realize it's likely that many of us are probably watching those listings for personal gain. The same "every man for himself" attitude. Maybe there are a lot of people who feel the same out there but are unwilling to speak up. Why? I think some of it is understandably not wanting drama, but I have a feeling most of it is people not wanting to burn bridges that may benefit them down the road. Either way, there's really no community if only a few are willing to stand up for it. So it's dead. And you decide who the good guys and gals are and you steer clear from the pricks. I keep a black list and a friends list, its the closest thing to toy karma anymore. Alas, it is what it is :dam:

could be a shop but these are all first come first serve convention exclusives that you could only buy standing in line.

You are only allowed to buy one item and if you want more you have to get back in the line to buy another.

I arrived at DCON 2016 at 10am, When I got to the japanese vinyl section, only one figure was sold out but the line was already endless. I was in line for an hour but when I finally got to the table, all that was left was the black godzilla with the punkdrunker head and the black blank frog... the sign said cash only. I did not bring much cash to DCON so I was $10 short of the godzilla... I had enough cash to buy the black frog but not my interest at all... so I bought nothing....

So when I see these instagram posts with items you can not possibly have 4 of

    It drives me mad.

    OH SHOOT.

okay.... so now I remember one more thing....

when it was my turn to buy.

an artist came over to the table and asked Goccodo if he can buy the Godzilla with the punkdrunkers head.
Goccodo looked at me and hesitated but DID sell the figure to him.

so I guess if you have the right connections you can get these figures at the con easily....

    Guys...Honestly it's fine....

I did'nt have enough cash for the godzilla anyway... and to tell you the truth I wanted the boomy in the black student outfit but it was already sold out. but this year I will be waiting at the door at 4AM:dam:

    This is not my photo.
when everything sells out Goccodo displays the figures that he brought.

the sad thing is when they had these on display(no one standing in line) the black frog was still on the side with the price tag.

Honestly I hope the Japanese vinyl section Punkdrunkers and Goccodo at least change their sale methods to raffle. That way I don't have to go that early in the morning.

Being here for 10 years, I still don't see the issue with eBay. I prefer it. And I'm not talking about trying to get more for a toy through eBay, I'm talking about knowing I'll take a hit either here or there. Here, you deal with countless back outs and hold requests that never materialize. Low balls that are just insulting (and these come from dudes who should just know better) it's the old never hurts to try bs, well it does. The more you sell on SB the less you will like its inhabitants. I prefer to go to eBay, even if I pay a fee at least people have to be serious and held accountable.

It's funny that you say this Joe. I am trying to sell my iPhone 6 on eBay and I have had three people do best offers and then after we agree on the price back out and just not pay and stop communicating. I can't give them negative feedback either. I just have to cancel the sale and relist the phone. But three times in two weeks that's happened. Never had that problem before either.

eBay is fine by me, .99 starting are bullshit. Same as posting a flipper price or even worse.

Buying a custom Goga from Phil (hellopike) for a freaking steal and selling it a month later for what is now $60 more and counting is a douchebag move and IMO a big FU to skullbrain and especially Phil

Agreed with Mikee on this one, albeit him and I share a lot of the same opinions. Don't really know why you would need 2 of the same lotto type sculpt. And that's pretty terrible in regards to Phils Goga, definitely a real scum bag move.
