You may have noticed that I'm not all that into beats... at least not all the time. Maybe it's just BPMs that I don't much give a poop about.

Anyway, here's an intro leading to an upshot, with all the below having first been shared with the world in nineteen hundred and ninety-six ---

The only postable track I could find from Piquet's The Faulty Caress:

Piquet is, of course, Mr. Paul Kendall.
A couple of 'jams' from Main's Firmament III:

Main was the often solo project of Loop's guru, Robert Hampson.
Scott Dawson was also known to show up.

Generous chunks from Bruce Gilbert's masterwork, Ab Ovo:

Gilbert is a founding member of the almighty Wire.

I won't hesitate in calling this album one of my favorites from any era.

All of this leads me to sharing one of the most excellent collaborative ventures that I have the priviledge of being aware of ---

Gilbert / Hampson / Kendall's sensational sonic biscuit, Orr.

Here are five delicious slices from the album, in the order that they appeared:

Quad; Seven's; Us; Clickway; Horg Merne

    The complete liner notes:

    Fuck yes. 1996.

EDIT: Doubled up on one of the tunes. Ewps.

Too bad the scene fell apart to become this EDM monster.. At least we had it when it was REAL.

So happy to find this thread on here! Especially the mention of City Cetner Offices! That's my jam... love that lexaunculpt track! I'm impressed to see all the great obscure tunes being posted here. But not surprised because I noticed a lot sofubi collectors gravitate towards searching out the good shit in life.... cheers!

Story time::: I first got seduced by electronic music first time I saw Mark Farina in LA in 97. Started going to moontribe parties with homies around then too. Was wicked into the IDM/ exp scene in LA during that time. I hosted a weekly idm/ downtempo night at Nova Express Cafe on Fairfax with a homie for a few years, and DJ'd a bunch around socal... good times.

I've always loved Plastikman and Disconnect is one of those replayed tracks. I also love Alva Noto and whatever Raster-Noton brings out.
This is one fine rendition of Disconnect.

What do you get when you put two of (some of) the noisiest heads together coming out from Japan with Balazs?

    This just in...

Kassel Jaeger & Jim O'Rourke - Wakes on Cerulean
    -- 2017

    "CUT AT 45rpm

Timely outing from two grand masters of exploratory electronics. Kassel Jaeger is the moniker of French musician François Bonnet who works at the GRM and has released a number of books including the highly regarded The Order of Sounds, A Sonorous Archipelago published by Urbanomic in 2016. Jim O’Rourke is known to most through his explorations of the song and shapes, the high and low, the east and south.

Wakes on Cerulean is a joint adventure where process folds upon process and the operation of procedure remains unknown. Amongst a mysterious cloud of excited high frequencies tiny whistling howls. Frog leaps in technique lay out a thrilling and uplifting journey that runs from the soothing to ecstatic and back to the buoyant again.

Wakes on Cerulean is a staggering feast of the joys found in electronic process. A malleable bubble of hovering excitement, melody and joyous refrain."

^ Wasn't hep to Kassel Jaeger but I'm a lifer for Jimmy! Been checking out whatever he put his mind to since that first slab of art fart from Gastr Del Sol. That kid is the best at everything.

Digging the fuck out of this as I type:

Bruce Gilbert's Bloodlines, 27 years young.

Not exclusively electronic, but it took many a machine to make this ballet background happen. Delicious.
